Frustrated Milan Bosses Chasing Down Lippi - Report The 2-2 home draw against Bayern Munich has reportedly convinced the Milan bosses that looking beyond Carlo Ancelotti is the only way to make a return to top form, and World Cup winner Marcelo Lippi is now firmly on their radar.

Milan have made very heavy weather of securing fourth place in Serie A - securing an almost imperative Champions League spot for next season - and the San Siro disappointment against Bayern has helped the Rossoneri boardroom make up their minds once and for all, report Il Giornale.

Marcelo Lippi, Frank Rijkaard and Macro van Basten are the three candidates being considered, but the World Cup winning coach is the favourite, as much due to his superior experience, more so in Seire A, as the fact that he is a free agent.

The club's senior players - Italian internationals such as Andrea Pirlo, Rino Gattuso and Alessandro Nesta, who have all worked very closely with him - are also said to be backing his appointment.

Lippi himself is said to be open to the idea now, according to a source close to former Juventus coach.

Moreover, the report suggests that he agrees in principle with Milan's transfer philosophy for the summer, and is ready to keep most of the current members of the technical setup.

It is being understood that nothing short of winning the Champions League trophy this season will save Carlo Ancelotti his job.

no thanks. We don't need a fluke coach coming to coach milan. You did enough at inter already.

Please... I'd prefer Carletto to stay the next 5 years than signing Lippi this Summer.

Though Carlo is fine and I admire his coaching, I wouldn't say no to Lippi.

If this is true and he does take over, I think the team will have a breath of fresh air (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

Man. I think you're trying REALLY hard to burn Portugal up! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Lippi? No. Never. I'd rather have Rijkaard! And you know what I think about Franky...

That settles it. I mean SportsCenter gets their news after Frodo does right? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
((IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) If Frodo pisses Warchant off half as much as Porty did to well...Porty (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) my work here is done!!)

But I just don't get this though...for Carlo to leave I was sure it would have to be to the Azzuri post coz Donadoni flopped. And I'd expect Lippi to step in.

But I really don't have a huge opinion about Lippi. Sure he's got the stats, but if there's a new coach coming in, I want a revolution, a bloody hurricane not a 'breath of fresh air' as my bestest friend mentioned. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I guess one alternative would be a swap between Prandelli and Carletto.

But this is of course IF they fire Carletto.

(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) You're certainly not welcome!!! You really think Spalleti will quit Roma. He wants to do something big with them, and I think he's got everyone's support. I can't see him pulling a Capello on them.

And Mourinho here?? With Silvio? Play with matches in a swimming pool filled with gasoline...why don't you???!!!! I mean if this guy can pick a fight with Abramovitch...let's not even go there...(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I'm not questioning his abilities as coach though. Just would a very un-bella calcio. Sure results are everything, but after a point you get tired of it.

With Prandelli...at least you'd have your money's worth from Gila. Though Rijkaard would probably make more out of a R10-Kaka combo than Prandelli. But Franky would ruin our defence.
Tough decisions...

AND WHY THE F@CK AM I TALKING LIKE CARLETTO IS LEAVING???!!! AND WHY HAVEN'T I MENTIONED MVB......AND WHY AM I SHOUTING???!!!

Ok...goodnight people...I think it's the heat.

Although I believe Carletto is a great coach, his time here is over. Players are too used to him and that's always scary for a team like Milan who always needs to play their best because more often than not, we are playing the best.

Who should replace him? Spalletti. He is a coach with a sharp eye and a desire for playing attacking football.

Delio Rossi has also caught my attention. He has done well in recent years and he seems like to know how to get the best out of each and every player. That's one of the things we need badly, cause sometimes it seems like Gattuso is the only player that's giving 100%.

Prandelli is not a bad coach, but I think he ows most of his success to having a rather powerfull squad of players than being some sort of a mastermind or anything like that.
