Ronnie laughs off Pelè forecast

Ronaldo has reacted with good humour to Pelè’s suggestion that he may never return to football after his horror injury.

The Seleção star’s career is in jeopardy after he severed a tendon in his knee during Milan’s game against Livorno in February.

After a successful operation in Paris, the 31-year-old has begun the pain-staking process of re-educating his knee and may return to the pitch within the next year if things go according to plan.

However, Brazilian legend Pelè recently suggested that Ronnie would never be the same player again – a comment that El Fenomeno has taken with a pinch of salt.

“I am glad that he said I would never return because his predictions are always wrong,” Ronaldo told O Rei. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

“Everyone knows that Pelè isn’t any good at forecasting things – they exact opposite always happens.

“I’m not angry – it doesn’t bother me. Pelè is an absolute idol and he gets asked questions about everything, so sometimes he gets himself into trouble trying to answer on difficult topics.”

pele is so stupid, he just reiterates what the media says or the "safest" answer, always so predictable.

thats why according to a him it's alaways a brazilian that should win the ballon d'or, brazil win win the world cup, etc.

But Ronaldo should play it down also. He should concentrate on his recuperation...

Maybe but he was a hell of a player and for that I'll let him sly..

Who (Brazilian) said "Pele is our master on the pitch but off of it he had better shut up!"!?? I think it was Romario but I'm not so sure... anyway whoever it was I agree with him... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That's true. But if there's one Brazilian who can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Pele it is Ronaldo (and then maybe Romario). Instead of hoping and praying that Ronnie gets back, he comes up with his stupid forecast. As much as I love Pele, I think it's about time he learned to keep his beak shut.

If someone thinks you're God, it doesn't mean you have to be one and start your forecast station. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

EXCLUSIVE: Ronaldo throws away his crutches
25/03-2008

Ronaldo took a massive step forward towards recovery on Thursday when he walked without crutches for the first time since his knee operation on 13 February.

After 41 days of rest and physiotherapy, the AC Milan striker expressed delight at his progress.

“I am very happy with the way things are going and the fact that I am no longer in pain,” Ronaldo told Fobazo as he ditched the crutches for a walking stick.

His physiotherapist confirmed that Ronaldo is close to getting full movement of his injured left knee and can already bend the joint to an angle of 70 degrees without experiencing any ill effects.

“Working slowly but surely we are getting better results that we had expected and Ronaldo is more and more confident and feeling more and more independent,” said Bruno Mazziotti. “Sometime in the next few weeks we are going to start working with weights.”

The happy atmosphere surrounding his recuperation has prompted Ronaldo to cut short his planned trip to Paris. The attacker was scheduled to spend a few days in the city before meeting with surgeon Gerard Saillant on 3 April.

But with his recovery going so well he has decided to stay in Milan and continue with his morale-boosting visits to the team’s training complex at Milanello.

He will now go to France on the eve of his 3 April appointment and if he gets the all clear travel to Madrid to celebrate his son Ronaldo’s birthday on 6 April.

Milan lab couldn't figure out what to do with Ronaldo's legs earlier, it's why all those mysterious injuries came.

So what do they do...break it and build him a new one. And voila everything works.

I'm thinking of Puma's Speed Legs advertisement...(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
