I heard about that .. Someone was telling me that if you take France and Italy's economies, and put them together .. It wont even come close to Germany's economy (in terms of taxs, industry, etc..). I guess it has something to do w/ the Euro and unemployment; which basically means less $$ turn-over, which is why they are in a 'little crisis'.

Am I right ?! or the person who gave this info had something inaccurate ?

Altough I am no expert I would say something like that (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . But it' s also true than since Italy replaced lira with euro (currency), costs went up for 40% and more.

I thought the German economy was in a bad state? It wasn't that long ago that I read they were entering a mini recession! In fact, I thought after the introduction of the euro most european countries are suffering

Didn't most european countries put their prices up after the euro was introduced?

True, but that was just how it looked like when they first converted to the Euro. Also, that impression was given, cuz they didnt have such a clearly heard voice in Europe as do England or France. The opposite happened; their industry was a basis for this, their unemployment rate is at a low (approx 2%) .. Plus they have officials at key positions in the EU (forgot their positions, but high ranked officials).

I take examples by measuring how many corporations are merging with German Corps. like Diamler Chrysler (always thought it was American, but..) it is a German Corp. etc etc

Italy on the other hand, suffers a high unemployment rate and as Diavolo said, cost went up 40% when they converted to the Euro

hmmm 2% unemployment, I guess the Chancellor would kiss everyone around her if it was only 2 %. Right now the unemployment rate is around 10 % in entire Germany, not to mention the unemployment rate in East Germany.

But it isn't that bad. After years of failure the economy finaly starts to grow again, but that's just coincidence from my point of view and has nothing to do with the current government (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Oha nd, back to topic....what's that bs Galliani is talking about "If Becks would have stayed in Europe he would play for us..." Now that's great because he decided not to play for us and that's everything that matters. I remember him saying the same about Henry in the summer "If he would have left Arsenal we would have signed him..."

They did, but in Italy it was the biggest ''raise'' of the prices in Europe.

Again that is what I heard, so I was asking about it. No it has nothing to do w/ the government, but Germany has one of the leading economys in Europe, without a doubt, it's industry is huge

Topic .. Yeah Galliani has a motor mouth, but Silvio is the only one who actually takes action .. So dont blame him (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

IMO WWIII has already taken place -- at an economical level -- and it was won by Germany and Japan (that was at the beginning of the 90's) and even though their economies have been in decline since then they still have a hell of a power!!

Rossoneri 'had won Becks race'
Saturday 13 January, 2007

Newspapers claim David Beckham was all set to sign for Milan before Tom Cruise convinced him to join LA Galaxy instead.

Out of contract at the end of the season with Real Madrid, the former England captain had been a target for both San Siro sides.

“If Beckham had stayed in Europe, it would’ve been with Milan. At the end of the day he opted for Los Angeles and informed us of his decision,” stated Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

The ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ insists that the Rossoneri had a deal to bring him to Serie A worth £2.8m per season for three years and including his entire lucrative image rights.

International agent Ernesto Bronzetti reportedly met with Becks and representative Terry Byrne in the Calle Serrano office to discuss the details.

The proposal was ready to be accepted on Wednesday, but a conversation with actor Cruise changed his mind and he plumped for a £128m switch to LA Galaxy.

"I was on the phone to him for about an hour Thursday night and an hour the night before," revealed Beckham.

"Obviously I asked him for his advice because he is a very wise man and a very good friend of mine. It's going to be a big help for us to have friends when we arrive in LA."

I think asking the guy who jumps on sofas for advise is a bit risky (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

But good for us. At least Tom Cruise finally did something right (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
