QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Jan 19 2007, 09:16 PM) So we r stupid for selling Sheva for 30M pounds ?! At the rate he's going I would ONLY buy the player at 10M max, and that is considering he has a great history at Milan. I think Milan did the prefect move; he was on his decline anyways .. all that was left in him was his experience and understanding of how Milan plays .. Other than that, he is past his prime. That's priceless (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Ok, even if a player is on his decline, I'll keep him at all costs if he scores more then 25 goals per season!

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Jan 19 2007, 09:39 PM) What guarentees do we have that he'll score 20+ goals for us had he stayed ?!As of late he has been injury prone, much slower, and basically whatever he had to give to Milan .. He already gave. For sentimental reasons Milan might have kept him, but an offer of 45M euro; add 10M to that and u'd be able to negotiate for R10 (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) But what guarantess do we have that had he stayed, he would have played like he is currently playing?? As you said, the fact that he was in decline can't be avoided but he understood Milan! He knew how we played and most importantly that we played to his strengths. I personally believe that, had he stayed he would have already got at least 10 goals already in the league by now. Chelsea where never suited for him, leaving Milan was his choice, Milan didn't want to sell him, no matter what the money offered was. He wanted to leave and he got his wish, now he is paying the price for it, in having his carreer go down the toilet.

Had he stayed, he would have been Sheva, that we knew, the #7 .. He would target being the highest goal scorer for this club, which would have been his motivation, if he had none left that is. But above all, he would have been here for sentimental reasons, first .. His goal tally has declined in his last yrs at Milan. He wasn't as dangerous infornt of goal as he was. He was injured for a large (important) part of the season, for two yrs running. Had he stayed, Milan wouldnt be in the state that it had gone through, that is true, obviouslly the team would be much more stable .. But he would be an aging player, that Milan has to clear off at some point (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) In the end, we all know what happened; but between us and Chelsea, we got the upper hand, Milan got 30M for a washed up Shevchenko. Every season that Sheva played with Milan, I used to follow almost every game .. Believe me on this one guys, he isn't what he used to be .. That was evident last season (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

He was one of the most constant goal scorer in the world, the only thing that changed is his way of play, he became more intelligent and was able to manage his energy, so if you think he was in decline cause he wasn't running like he used to when he was 20 yo, then I can't arge with you anymore!

What's the point of arguing ?! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) There is no point in that (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) , cuz u see the situation as 'had Sheva stayed ...', while I see it as 'He left us w/ 30M pounds and isn't as sharp as he used to be ...' .. Arguement could go both ways. Sheva has made a name for himself a big fans base and a lot of admirers .. But he is only human, what he could do, he already did. I, for one, don't think he'll be as good as he did last yr, and last yr he didnt do better than the year/years before .. It's a pattern, for each player there is one .. The only exception lies in Maldini (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Of course, cuz he is immortal (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

QUOTE (han2503 @ Jan 19 2007, 11:01 PM) I'm not going to get my hopes up until I see the player holding the Milan shirt on the official site The official site sucks... so not until I see him on the field I will actually believe he's ours! And CUT IT OUT WITH SHEVCHENKO ALREADY!! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Secondly i agree with you entirely. Sheva is an average striker now, he was at the end of last season too. Everyone knows it deep inside. Sheva was popping 25 goals a season cause all milan does is target him with the ball. On average per game i say he gets at least 10-15 chances. At chelsea he gets 3. And maldini immortal lol plz haha. I respect him as the world's second best defender but the man's gotta retire and so does that jersey of his (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) . Milan gotta stop being a retirement club, and start buying themselves some 23-25 year olds. Cafu costacurta maldini, inzaghi all must leave or go to reserves and allow the chance for players who will actually make an impact for milan in the future play.

This is pointless. But just for the record, sheva would have dominated this season. You seen some of the chances gila, pippo and oli missed early on..

They cant even play every 3 days as they used to. Even when they play for 90 mins, we dont see them back on the field till 2 weeks l8r, or worse, they get injured. But Maldini is immortal (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif)
