QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jun 3 2007, 05:17 AM) If you guys look into old videos and that. Check Pele out, he is not a classy player at all, the rules in football were different back then but that doesn't mean he should get away with what he did. I watched a documentary on him, whenever he was fouled, he'd take a mental note of that players number, and make sure he got him back by the end of the game, is that what the 'Worlds Great Player' should do? Same goes for Maradonna, doing drugs and being just a down right cheat shouldn't give you the fame that it gave him. He may be a great, but he's definetly one of the worst I've ever seen attitude wise. Okay, I think it is time for a CAT-scan ! Maradona ?? Pele ?? R u f@cking serious ???? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Please .. No one is denying ur liking of poulsen, just don't bring in the best two players that have ever touched a football into this context !

QUOTE Posted by R7: What ?! Sorry, but u make no sense. Rino ?! he has nothing special to his game; he is no Nesta or Kaka He is just a defensive midfielder QUOTE Posted by me: He may not have the skill, the pace or be a prolific scorer, but I love him the same way you guys love Rino. That's exactly what I'm saying. In my opinion neither Rino or Poulsen are great footballers, they're just both superb defensive midfielders. Poulsen doesn't cheat. He fouls alot, yes. But he gives away free-kicks, so he's gaining no advantage. Do you know what Italian defenders are told when they're going through the youth teams? If you're the last man and the player beats you, foul him. Whether you believe me or not it's true, from a young age they're told to stop a goal-scoring opportunity at all costs.. Hence the philosiphy "Do not conceed, and you can't lose" I wouldn't consider Italians cheats though. Rino has made his fair share of awful mis-timed tackles. But to me, fouling somebody is nowhere near as bad as diving. When you foul, you give away a free-kick, rightly so. When you dive, you gan a free kick, unfairly. I've never once said Poulsen is a clean player, he is a dirty player, I'll admit that. What he did today was just awful, but he was punished for it. Just because he's not won World Cups or Champions League, just because he's not a well known name doesn't mean he should be picked on. Talk about dirty players, look at Essiens fouls, he could have ended careers with what he's done recently, but because he's a well known and respected player, it's okay.QUOTE R u f@cking serious ????
Please .. No one is denying ur liking of poulsen, just don't bring in the best two players that have ever touched a football into this context ! ^^ This is exactly what I mean. Just because you've done great things in football doesn't mean you can just get away with what you want. Maradonna is the biggest cheat EVER.

QUOTE And what's the point ur trying to make ?!
That poulsen is a super-DM ?! yeah, ok ... I really couldn't care less if he wears a cape while he does his - whatever he does on a football pitch .. That he's a class player? If he's not a class player for this, then neither is Gattuso. They do exactly the same job. Maradona can out dribble poulsen time and time again. Even ina wheel chair, he can out dribble poulsen ! QUOTE Why is he a cheat, because of that goal against England ?! The one he put in with his hand ?!
Please .. Maradona has proven his worth LOOOONG before that goalÂ
What he has done for Argentina and Napoli is written in the history books ... But why are u redirecting ur discussion about pulsen to Maradona ?!
I have nothing to add on Maradona; his name says it all You don't seem to get it. So you're telling me if you're a top name in football it's okay to foul, cheat and get away with whatever you want? The redirection is in relation to this discussion. Why is it okay for Maradonna to play dirty, but not Poulsen?

Maradona can out dribble poulsen time and time again. Even ina wheel chair, he can out dribble poulsen ! No Gattuso doesn't have class, he is a DM. Gattuso even says this about himself. QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jun 3 2007, 05:51 AM) You don't seem to get it. So you're telling me if you're a top name in football it's okay to foul, cheat and get away with whatever you want? The redirection is in relation to this discussion. Why is it okay for Maradonna to play dirty, but not Poulsen? Ok bro, I don't know how u get the logic out of ur posts, but this my attempt at making sense of it and replying ... again Forget about the names; Pele, Maradona, Zidane, Totti, etc ... Now think of the players that they are. What they have contributed to football, to their respective clubs and national teams, and what they have given as inspiration is enough for them to be classified on a level of their own. Now, once in a blue moon, every player fouls or does something illegitimate .. But because of the magic that they have made in their illustrious and remarkable careers, the negative aspects hold no weight - at all ! But when u look at Poulsen .. Well u tell me ?? What has he contributed to his club or national team ?! Other than fouling and what-not, he is simply like gattuso .. end of discussion. Why ?? Cuz u cant say that Maradona or Zidane = Poulsen. U r just asking for it, if u get what I mean (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You're still not giving me a straight answer!
Yes, Maradonna has given more to football than any other player in the history of the sport in my opinion.
This does NOT give him the right to be a cheat and to foul alot. You can't just be like..
"Well, since you've done so much for the sport, we'll let you kick that guys head in, don't worry though. You're an icon in the sport, it doesn't matter."
And I know Poulsen hasn't done alot for club or country. This doesn't mean he's not a great player. Like you said, every player does bad things, even the best of them. It doesn't make them any less of a player, he helped Sevilla retain the UEFA Cup this year, which is a hard thing to do, so what if he's not won countless trophies, he hardly plays in a World beating team.

It makes you a better team, yes. Trophies aren't win individually. Poulsen's won as much as Rino this season, and is still in the running for two other trophies. Not too shabby for a cr@p cheat. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But I still consider Rino a better player, regardless of what he wins. QUOTE Anyways, I understand that you are a Poulsen fan. But you can't say he is the same as Gattuso or they are the same players cause that's not true. No, fair point. The only similarity I intended to put accross was that they both play in a defensive midfield position. I know they're completely different players. Gattuso is unique.

It doesn't make them any less of a player, he helped Sevilla retain the UEFA Cup this year, which is a hard thing to do, so what if he's not won countless trophies, he hardly plays in a World beating team. As if Sevilla hasn't won it last year too (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Look .. I am not derailing this discussion into something that fits my liking, but into something more logical (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Maradona is no cheat !! His qualities don't come with fouling (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) What straight answer ?? Ur stating a crooked fact .. That poulsen has class, that Maradona is the BIGGEST CHEAT EVER (just cuz he scored against England ?? btw, the ref would have been the cheat (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ), that Zidane is a dirty player (because he head-butted Matrix), and Totti spitting .. but Poulsen is a class act isn't he (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) That is EXACTLY why u cant compare Zidane, Pele, Maradona, Totti, etc to Poulsen !! There is NOTHING in common. They are each highly respected members of the football world, while poulsen is .. Well, just ask that Swed what he thought of him today (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) If u insist on pointing out that Zidane head-butted or Maradona scored a hand goal (which was down to the ref (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) ... At least they both SINGLE handedly won a lot with their clubs ... And yes, that makes everything better, not to justify why they fouled or did anything illegitimate, but they have given football much much more ! While poulsen has given jack sh1t. P.S. .. If u want to go on praising him and what not, by all means do so. Just dont pull in Zidane and Maradona into the same sentence. Honestly this is insulting my intelligence. I can't keep repeating myself.

Well, just ask that Swed what he thought of him today (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) So let's ask Poulsen what he thinks of Totti or Savo? I'm pretty sure he won't have polite words. I'm not saying Poulsen is great, I'm not even saying you have to like him. But this whole started when one of you guys disrespected Poulsen. Then you react badly when I say bad about Totti, Maradonna, Zizou and Pele? Of course he's not like them, he never will be either. But he deserves respect, anybody who plays football does. I don't defend what he's done in the past, but I'm not going to let people disrespect people I admire (Yes, ADMIRE). So I'd appreciate it if you didn't. N' I'll lay off Maradonna.
