Palermo may sell Barzagli – agent Thursday 2 November, 2006 Andrea Barzagli’s agent has admitted that his client could leave Palermo at the end of the current campaign. The Italian international has been linked with a variety of clubs in the past and a 2007 move seems to be on the cards. “The player didn’t want to leave Palermo in the summer and the club had no intention of selling him anyway,†said Claudio Orlandini to calciomercato.com. “That was despite receiving consistent offers from the most important Italian clubs around. However, the situation may change next summer…†Rosanero director general Rino Foschi edged the stopper towards Juventus yesterday and Orlandini has maintained that his client is a wanted man. “If an important offer was made then Palermo could decide to sell. Lazio duo set to extend? Thursday 2 November, 2006 Lazio have opened contract talks with Luciano Zauri and Massimo Oddo in a bid to tie them to the club for the rest of their careers. Zauri is contracted until 2007 and President Claudio Lotito met the player on Monday, allegedly offering an extension through to 2011. The former Atalanta man has Sampdoria tracking him, but he has stated that he would prefer to stay at Lazio. A new meeting could be scheduled soon and no other offers will be considered until January, according to his agent. If no deal is agreed by the New Year, Zauri will be available to talk to other clubs about the possibility of a Bosman transfer next summer. Meanwhile, Oddo’s (pictured) contract ends in 2008 and the world champion is also interested in renewing his deal. However, it remains unclear if he intends to finish his career in Rome or if he would instead favour a move to another large club before leaving football. The ex-Verona man was paired with a transfer to Milan during the summer, but no fee was agreed for the attacking full-back, who was valued at £8m by Lotito. The Biancocelesti could offer Oddo a five-year extension, although Il Corriere dello Sport reports that the player will require a significant pay-increase to remain at the Stadio Olimpico. Seriously, whatever big club (except for Inter) that signs Huntelaar will be lucky as hell... Just look at his scoring record... Not many players can pull this off nowdays anymore and this guy is still only 23... I really hope we manage to sign him! He will become Inzaghi's successor and even better. no doubt!
