QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Nov 10 2007, 12:50 PM) oh they are a monster team alright. I don't know about next season. But this season definitely. This is pretty much Inter's last shot at glory, before the rest of the teams catch up. My only hope is Mancini. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) A good coach, and these guys could do some damage. Where did that come from all of a sudden? Is it Cordoba? Samuel? Cesar? 34 year old Figo? Adriano? Zanetti? Maicon? Dacourt? Burdisso? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Here are their great players: Stankovic, Ibrahimovic, Viera, Crespo and maybe Cambiasso. Here are Milan's: Nesta, Gattuso, pirlo, Seedorf and Kaka. Not a big difference at all. If anything, our players are better than them. All they have is an overall full team that doesn't have holes in it. Milan and Juve on the other hand, need to fill some gaps. That's all there is to it.

I already said they need to beef up their defence and get Riquelme. And you haven't mentioned Matrix. He might not be very likeable, but he is effective.
And yes we have more matchwinners in our first eleven than they do, which is what you've tabulated when you've compared. We agree here. That however doesn't say the whole story.
But then like I said, they have a fuller team. If I may, they have the 'fullest' team in Europe along with Real Madrid. Besides the strikers/forward mids, I don't see much in Barca. They still depend on Xavi and Iniesta far too much in their mid-field.

QUOTE You take Ibra out of the equation and they'd more than likely suffer just like we do without Kaka. True, which is why they need some creativity coming in from mid-field. Their game hinges quite a bit on Zlatan linking with Stankovic/Viera. That Zlatan is in good form, is what is the main reason for their dominance. Crespo in the end is just a very very good finisher. In that sense we have an advantage in having Seedorf as well to prop up the mid. R99 (in good nick) together with Gila(in the alternate game (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) and us playing our 4-3-1-2 would definitely make our first eleven stronger than theirs. But that first eleven(imho-among the 2 or 3 best lineups in the world) is all we got for the timebeing. To improve I would reckon... 1. We would need Pato at his usual potential 2. We would need a proper CB pairing in good nick. Nesta-Kaladze of this year is still not as good as they used to be. Neither is the Paolo-Nesta combo. Bonera is adequate as a Stam replacement. We might still need to look for a good new CB, unless Bonera scales up on a massive scale. 3. More flying fullbacks. They don't make them like Cafu and Carlos anymore . (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) In Oddo, we have an excellent RB, who as long as he's not fatigued is superb. Against Man U last season, after Kaka, along with Rino he was our most effective player. Even ahead of Seedorf. My fav transfer of last season(sorry Ari, but I have a thing for fullbacks and no dst is not what I'm talking about (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ). I want Zambrotta really!! I know Janku is really great and all, but he is still in the end a LM who we play as LB. Sergio was a convert too, but Janku doesn't have the offensive impact of Sergio, and his defensive duties are interfering with his ability to drop in the crosses. He's no Wayne Bridge who crosses in from deep. Imo Janku would be more effective in this formation Oddo---Nesta---Bonera/Kala---Zambrotta -----Rino--------Pirlo--------Janku--------- ---------Kaka-----------------Seedorf------ -------------------Gila/R99------------------ I think even if we were to play the pyramid with 2 strikers, it wouldn't matter much, since with Milan's/Carletto's style of play, too much hinges on our fullbacks playing at full potential. And with Zambrotta in , you basically have the chief joker in the pack. He can drop in for either Oddo or Janku and be just as deadly if not more. And (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) I get my all Italian defense----all Euro mid-field---and possibly all Brazillian trident/Brazil attack with Italian goal poacher. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Harmony (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE You basically said what I just said... Yeah sure...I knew that sooner or later it would be my fault. The time when Milan actually did spend big is not so far away... but right now I can't believe in Berlusconi when he says he will do it again...

QUOTE Del Piero: I Hope That Both Ronaldo And I Score On Saturday
Juventus forward Alessandro Del Piero spoke about the upcoming clash against Milan scheduled for Saturday evening at San Siro, in the 14th matchday of Serie A.
The captain of the Bianconeri commented the fact that his team has done better than Milan in this early part of the season, something which no one had expected.
"No I don't think so," declared Pinturicchio to 'Sky'. "More than anything, Milan is behind to what everyone expected, but the potential and the skill of this team and club are superior to what reality says today."
Del Piero agrees with the Golden Ball being awarded to Kaka.
"He deserves it for what he showed last season, so yes I think so."
Finally, he spoke about Ronaldo who recently declared that his destiny is like the one of Del Piero, that is always being discussed.
"It's true," commented Del Piero. "I'm happy to meet and embrace him again, and I'm happy that he's fine. Let's hope that on Saturday we both score."

(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) He's trying to do a Kaka. Being polite and self effacing and all. On the other hand u have a guy like Trez who's saying, Milan should worry, since Juve have a much much better attack and so on. So Gila's scored 5 times for us. But they have Iaquinta with 6, Del Piero (super sub) and he's got 5(class never lies), and Trez with 12 or something like that, he's already into double digits. Gila will need to score 20+ this season, for us to have a respectable season. I like the fact that he's becoming more and more of a protagonist as the season progresses. If it goes on like this, I might have to disband the brotherhood and start a new one for a new lost cause. I'll put up a poll, for u guys to decide who it will be.
