QUOTE (Zed.D @ May 26 2009, 10:23 PM) How many Curva Sud tifosi were involved in that incident? 100? 200?... because they were about the only Milan fans on earth who didn't pay tribute to Paolo. I don't think Milan fans as a whole failed to do that cause there are millions of them around the world who celebrated Maldini on Sunday. Carlo put it brilliantly; a few poisonous drops in an ocean of love for Maldini. those tifosi are so much a small minority that they're pathetic. It still hurts so much. He has given his all for 25 years and 900 games without ever showing lack of anything and those pathetic losers boo him for having an argument with them? Even if he had done something much much worse than that they still should have cheered their hearts out for him... this really was a pathetic farewell and one the likes of Kaladze should get. I hope his last game will be much better! Forza Curva Fiesole!!!!! Again, I'm ashamed to be a Milan fan because of this incident.

QUOTE Maldini upset with MilanWednesday 27 May, 2009Paolo Maldini, the legendary defender, is upset Milan decided not to condemn protests made against him at San Siro on Sunday. The 40-year-old was making one final appearance in front of his home fans before retiring at the end of this season. Instead of receiving a hero's send off, Maldini was greeted with a banner that read: “Thanks captain. On the pitch you were an undying champion but you had no respect for those who made you rich.” A banner commemorating Franco Baresi was also unveiled, indicating the fans' belief that he and not Maldini is the club's favourite ever captain. “I really don't know [why they ruined the party],” Maldini told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I have always been straight, following my ideals, respecting everybody. “I have not frequented the areas where the fans go, but not because I'm a snob, for I always have to show something because of the surname I carry. “I only wanted to be judged for what I did on the pitch. There are some who can see this as a form of respect towards the fans and the club. “There are also others who can interpret this attitude as a discourtesy,” Maldini explained. When asked to explain what has disappointed him the most, Maldini replied: “The club's silence. I didn't like the fact they chose not to take a position. “There hasn't even been a comment. From the President down, not one director said a word. I may be an idealist, but I believe that a club like Milan should dissociate itself from certain events.” Maldini himself responded very quickly to the protesters, telling the Italian Press: “I am proud not to be one of them.” “It was an instinctive reaction, and so perhaps a mistake,” he said. “I was an injured man. I didn't have the possibility to think it through. “It was a response to an action that had been premeditated for days, months and perhaps years. I am a man with feelings and weaknesses,” he concluded. Maldini will call time on his career this weekend, having won 26 majors trophies in a career spanning a quarter of a century. ::channel4:: This is the worst week of my life!! Why did it have to end like this!?!? **** (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

QUOTE Inter Defender Santon: It's A Shame About Paolo Maldini
The Nerazzurri stopper is hoping his hero from the red and black side of Milan reconsiders his retirement...
Inter starlet Davide Santon has admitted his sadness at Paolo Maldini's retirement plans as he hails the Milan legend.
The Italian youngster is considered by many to be 'the new Maldini'. Santon, who has been outstanding for Inter this season when he has played, is hoping the Rossoneri captain doesn't wave goodbye to fooball totally.
"I really hope he doesn't leave football now, it's a shame," Santon told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"Someone like Maldini is important for young people.
"I asked him for his shirt in the derby. At first I thought he forgot, but he came into the dressing room to give it to me personally, it was a great emotion."
Maldini will play his last ever match for Milan when they meet Fiorentina on Sunday. The game is worth a third place finish. The Viola could leapfrog their opponents if they win by more than a two-goal margin. Even Inter............ , and us ??? Disgrace Curva Sud , big disgrace ; I want to kill these people .
