I would really like to know what you think.

I think that although Pirlo is a good player, he is small sized, not physical and too slow for the positions he's playing. Sometimes I see Milan very slow I in that sector.

Gattuso is a true enforcer in the midfield but he has only one dimension ... he's not a good passer, not a ball controler (slow on the bands) and not a good shooter.

I REALLY think that when this two player are together, Milan gets kind of slow in the midfield ... loses the ball a lot ... and counterattacks are scarce.

MILAN NEEDS MORE VERSATILE AND ATHLETIC PLAYERS IN THE MIDFIELD ... THE TEAM THAT CONTROLS MIDFIELDS ... WIN GAMES.

well Pirlo is definetely not a DMF, he's surely not too physical but I think if another ture DMF comes in Pirlo could play in front of him...
Gattuso is exactly what you wrote...pretty much useless when not running I'd say...
more of a sub!!!

I think Maresca is probably better than both...

I´d say this time you are wrong, from my point of view....Gattuso gives us something we all need - strenght, speed and passion. You underestimate the fact that he presents a large motivation factor for other players. Only trouble is, when we have him on right without Cafu, lets say with Simic...then we loose the whole right wing section in offensive lines, and Pirlo ends up with big problems. His balls should be eighter long or short, but fast. Maresca is a Sevilla player, not suitable for Milan.

Not to be complex, our left side situation is very clear. But the right one is problemathic - Stam, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Costacurta, Simic, Cafu even Maldini played last season as RB or RM. Ok, injuries and so...still, we don´t have a proper offensive solution on this position....I told this xxx times, and I still think Dario Srna is ideal for this position (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think that along with Pirlo and Gattusso we have Kaka and Seedorf. Everybody can't be like Kaka or like Seedorf? It's kinda impossible and more undesired. And I agree with Simone about the motivation Gattuso brings.
And also I agree that Pirlo isn't a DMF. He has more potential more in upfront and he can play more creative football.

Vogel is decent more of a backup than a real solution

We need someone like Xabi Alonso or Fabregas and Pirlo needs to be pushed forward

Maybe thats the solution swap Gattuso and Pirlo so Pirlo plays on the right and Gattuso guards our defense

gattuso and pirlo form a very good combo. Many of you think that there not good, but i dont think any other combo of mid in the world preforms like they do. Gattuso is like the hardcore italian fan, boosting the spirit of milan. Pirlo is like the quiet surprise you depend on in a hopeless situation. Put them together and you have what we all love to watch (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) FREEKICKS!!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong pals..Pirlo and Rino are great players and really deserve to be in first XI I just think Maresca is more motivated to win and unlike Rino he's useful even when he's not running (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ...Not only aren't those two needed to be cast off but in addition we need them to be in our squad..
On the other hand WE NEED DEFENDERS!!!!!!!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

Did you see Pirlo in the match against Ghana???... well, that´s the answer to your question!!!

He did great passes and great shots. Maybe bringing in Mascherano could let him go forward in the field.
