Hmm...I don't think Maldini can still play the left wing. I'm afraid he became to slow...
And I don't see Abbiati strong enough to be our keeper.Dida is better though it definetely wasn't his best season.
As I said I'd also like Luca Toni as new striker. But does anyone know if he's really willing to transfer?
Lets consider every field step by step:
Coach:
Ancelotti is still the best option I suppose. After the coming season we will see, maybe then we will be able to sign
Rijkaard. But for now, Carlo is a satisfactorily solution.
Keepers:
Dida should stay the Nr. 1, even if
Abbiati returns. Also,
Kalac, and eventually
Fiori can be second keepers or jump in for unexpected situations. Eventuall transfer option:
Doni (Roma)
Defenders: The CB positions are, for the starting line-up clear -
Nesta and
Kaladze played last season very good, and derserve our full confidence.
Maldini and
Costacurta should also be considered for this positions (CB). Maldini still can play 20-25 matches on a high level, but not as left wing. Kaladze is too defensive, if Ancelotti decides to continue with his offensive approach. So the left wing position is the first problem. I am convinced
Serginho can play another great season, but his age can cause injury or fitness problems.
Jankulovski is a real option. The right side seems to be secured by the contract extension of
Cafu and
Simic.
Marzoratti could also make a few appearances. I must say, Jaap Stams departure is a big loss. Still, the defense line necessarily needs refreshments. Suggested options:
Gallas(Chelsea),
Heitinga(Ajax),
Barzagli(Palermo) [/B],
Oddo(Lazio),
Pasqual (Fiorentina),
Chivu (Roma) or even
Lahm(Bayern) if he makes some good WC matches.
Midfielders: If Rui Costa leaves, Kaka will need a alternative. Maybe
Bouldek, but this is not a sure option. Perhaps our scouts discover a young unknown talent, or we could make a more concrete move by signing
Fiore(Fiorentina) or by bringing back
Cassano (Real Madrid) to Italy. There are some rumours that Milan will sign
Poulsen(Schalke 04) as a DM, but I dont see how he is needed.
Ambrosini,
Vogel and
Pirlo cover this position.
Seedorf is also reliant for the left side. But the right side needs reinforcements - Gattuso is a great defensive worker. However, when it comes to specific attacking dutys, he is limited. So I suggest as a possible new player the Croatian right winger
Srna(Sakhtar D.). Other possibilities in the midfield:
Sneijder (Ajax),
van der Vaart (HSV),
Diarra (Lyon),
Borowski (Werder)...
Attackers: No problems if
Shevchenko stays! Then it will be enough to add
Crespo (Chelsea) or
Vucinic (Lecce).
Inzaghi proved his class once more, I guess
Amoroso is a option also, only
Gilardino was not that convinceing last season, when it came to important big matches. I hope it is only a question of experience. But if Sheva leaves for Chelski, except of broken hearts we would have more offensive difficulties to pass. In that case
Torres (Atletico),
Henry (Arsenal) or
Toni (Fiorentina) must be our priorities.
So, this is just my brief observation...maybe something unexpected happens at the Mercato, or some WC player stars, so...lets hope we put a great team together for the next season and finally win some trophies (IMG:
