QUOTE (han2503 @ Aug 22 2008, 06:24 PM) It's for the better that he's still out injured?? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) We do have people to cover him now, but still you will always miss a player like Kaka, not just him not playing but his presence on the pitch gives everyone confidence. And these were just friendlies, you can't compare them with actual competitive matches in the league. Hopefully there won't be anymore setbacks after this, especially because the Inter game come really early this season. But until he comes back we'll probably play Seedorf, Ronaldinho and Pato in attack I didn't say that. It's for the better that he's given the time to rest. We have a major presence that can fill in for him right now. Not just Seedorf. But a major presence that performed well in the game against Belgium. Of course I dont' want anymore setbacks. But a fully healed Kaka is morei mportant to me than anything else.

Well ofcourse I want a fully fit Kaka before he sets foot on the training pitch let alone in a match. Last season he was pushed into matches countless times before he was fully ready, namely against Arsenal. Even though I want him to come in as soon as possible, I don't want that to happen at the expence of his fitness so I'm hoping that they'll let him fully recover before pushing him back in. But even though we have Ronaldinho this season it doesn't mean that Kaka won't be missed. R10 is still getting into shape himself and I'm thinking Pato will need some time to find his footing in the league. So with Pippo and Boriello both out we'll need Seedorf to be at his best

QUOTE (amancik @ Aug 22 2008, 10:52 PM) And that's why I think Seedorf will be key in the opening game. Hopefully Kaka' recovers early but we don't wanna rush it ... I watched today's game Brazil against Belgium, Ronnie likes to play a chip-through ball over the top of defenders, and with Kaka and Pato's pace, they could leave the defenders chasing shadows. 9 days left to see how that all will unfold... I would like Kaka to stay out for as long as needed. I'd also prefer he had a surgery and stayed out for even longer if that means he won't have the same problem again!

R10 is still getting into shape himself and I'm thinking Pato will need some time to find his footing in the league. So with Pippo and Boriello both out we'll need Seedorf to be at his best I don't want to risk Kaka into injury. We can't rush him. Ronaldinho is the appropriate reinforcement. I know that Kaka will be missed... I miss him... but I think Ronaldinho will help reduce pressure on him and stop all the players from marking Kaka all the time. They have more players to worry about. I don't think Pippo's injury is serious at all. In fact I wouldn't even call it an injury. With nine goals, I think Pato is well on hiw way. Our team's attack is all set in my opinion. It's just the defense I'm a bit worried about. Seedorf will step it up, because he knows when Kaka comes back his position is at risk. Ronaldinho was very impressive in the game against Belgium and finally found even better form... he's very effective. Certainly the right investment. Some say a gamble, but I say well worth it!

Some say a gamble, but I say well worth it! People said it was a gamble only because of his fitness (or lack, thereof). But noone doubted his skill, because you can never lose talent. But I think the doubts came up because we couldn't get Ronaldo back to fitness. But Ronaldinho will definitely do well. And he seems really motivated about Milan, and if he gets to the Barca 2005/06 form, then I say that the UEFA cup, atleast, is ours cause he's one of the players who can take a team on his own shoulders all alone.

I don't agree in my opinion with that sentiment on R80. There are several things about Ronaldo I do agree with. He has had several major injuries in his career... and he has a bigger build. Ronaldinho on the other hand has never suffered a major injury in his career, and has a thin frame... We got a real team here and our midfield has huge amounts of depth now.

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 23 2008, 12:17 PM) We got a real team here and our midfield has huge amounts of depth now. Well, in terms of depth we have Brocchi, Emerson, Cardaccio and Viudez. The first two names, the less spoken of the better and the Uru-guys will really need to step up their game if they're called upon and we want to have a shot at the scudetto.

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 23 2008, 12:39 PM) That's true. But I think people are underestimating how happy Ronaldinho was to move to Milan. Ronaldo was very happy to move to Milan as well. But didn't get us anything cause we couldn't get him back to proper fitness. Emerson was very happy too. You get my point. QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 23 2008, 12:39 PM) We have many more midfielders than that (I count the attacking mids, defensive mids too). Midfielders we have (official roster): Emerson, Gattuso, Seedorf, Cardaccio, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Brocchi, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Flamini That's 10 midfielders. We play 5 at one time, so that leaves 5 as our "depth". Right now Kaka is injured so we have 4 as depth. Of the 4, Emerson and Brocchi can't cut it. they're not good enough. Cardaccio is very inexperienced. We can't rely on him. So, basically, I'm saying is that, in case we do get 2 major injuries (God forbid, I don't wanna jinx it), we can pretty much say goodbye to the Scudetto.

So, basically, I'm saying is that, in case we do get 2 major injuries (God forbid, I don't wanna jinx it), we can pretty much say goodbye to the Scudetto. **BIG POST ALERT** Easy there! there will be many instances during the course of this season, and many more over the course of future seasons when we will all be discussing how important Flamini is for Milan. Flamini gives us amazing depth. He will cover our @$$es when Gattuso is slow and ineffective and Ambro is playing averagely. His steady play will also allow Cardaccio time to grow into his own as a player, and not see minutes at unfair times like 0-0 vs. celtic like Yoann was shown, but maybe more like only once we're up 3-0 against Lazio, and then as he gains confidence make him more important. Flamini will also allow time for Emerson to recover to his near-best and potentially contribute at some moments this season without being off-form when he's needed. - We all know how Carlo loves his Defensive Midfielders. Lets not forget he is a really underrated passer and provides cover for Pirlo if necessary. Our attacking midfield is deep as well by acquiring Dinho and Viudez. Now we have a pecking order. 1. Kaka 1. Dinho 1. Seedorf 4. Viudez The three provide mutual cover for eachother in case of injury. Viudez has a short list of the greatest ever to learn from. I personally could not envy a young player more than i envy Viudez. He's got time on his hands and 3 of the best ever as his mentors. Viudez has a nice learning curve, but he's no slouch either and could be quite a talent sooner than later. Even if these dreaded two injuries do occur in our AM, Carlo can put 2 strikers in and beef up the DMs..or play Christmas Tree? Our options are abundant now. Compare what we have now to what he had last season! Now a sure shot striking option would be luxurious..but Pato is only going to be better than the last time we saw him...Borriello beats having pathetic Gila..Pippo is Pippo...Promising Palo. We're Scudetto Deep. Our striking department MAY have a question mark lingering over its head, but the potential is there for lots of world class goals from them. Not to mention the AT LEAST 20 that Kaka/Dinho/Seedorf will get. We can't really compose a nicer roster than the one we have right now..the only things would be a proven great goal getter, a keeper, and a nice CB. Two might happen in the next week.
