QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Jul 4 2014, 02:44 PM) Bah, you and your German hate Dislike Fillipo, dislike for their military efficiency. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Not to mention their coach is a tool, and if the German NT in the previous world cups was bearable to watch (in my opinion), this one is just a step down. Maybe it has got something to do with the players, the multi ethnic pool (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), or the overall quality of the players. I just can't. In fact, I have not even watched a single German match in this campaign. Part of it is because I am busy, part of it is because I don't want to bother. At least the Brazilian match starts at late night my place, so I can watch it. The first one I will skip. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) When it comes to big teams, I much prefer the Brazils, Italys and even Englands of this world to this German work machine. Having said all that, I've quite enjoyed their club football. Dortmund in particular, and prior to this new look, the Bayern of old.

QUOTE (Danny @ Jul 4 2014, 03:20 AM) An overpass collapsed killing at least 2 and injuring about 20. Last I heard. Well, I'll be damned if FIFA even considered postponing the games. QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jul 4 2014, 06:50 PM) Their coach is a tool? Hah. Hah. Yup, I think he is just riding his luck. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Germany has better options available, but they are stuck with a guy who has slowly stripped away their identity. Maybe not winning anything major also has had an affect on player mentality, but I think France will be their first real test. And then either Brazil or Columbia will again make life difficult for this team that, to me, seems lost. From what I have gather, they have lost that air of invincibility that previous German teams possessed.

Agree with Kurt this time, that game was an absolute snooze fest, one of the worst of the tournament.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jul 5 2014, 01:25 AM) So, the tool made it to the semi-finals. Not bad for a tool. Or rather his team limped into it. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) Germany in semifinals was almost always guaranteed in the past, only this team reached the stage with far less conviction than the ones from the past. But maybe that is how modern football is for the most part, keep the bases strong, defend, defend, defend and score a goal or two. Only a few teams play with complete flow and finesse. Even Brazil have been play a constrained game for years now. It all started with Dunga in the previous World Cup.
