Don't you guys think that Milan needs to add another attacking midfielder to the squad? I mean, if Milan keeps playing with 5 midfielders, that's gonna put a lot of pressure on Kaká and Seedorf. Seedorf is not getting any younger, and Ricardo didn't play the Copa America due to tiredness. This was because he played pretty much every single game(when he wasn't injured) this last season, as he had no back-up at all. Gourcuff might be considered one, yes. But I don't think he fits too well in that role, and neither does Ancelotti. Gourcuff has been played further back, in either Pirlo's position or in Seedorf's '4-4-2-position', if you catch my drift.
I definitely think we need a back-up for Kaká, whether that one will be Baptista or some other player, I will leave for Galliani to decide on... |

I've never really liked Barzagli. I don't think he will be the next great Italian defender, seeing as both Nesta and Canna were a lot younger when they first started to do well for their respective clubs. I think Barzagli would be a great waste, as Zamparini would want a truck load of money for Barzagli to go, especially if he goes to one of Italy's biggest clubs.
We have Nesta, Kaladze, Bonera, Maldini and Simic, who are all decent defenders. To have a player like Simic as a fifth centre back is not something that every top team in Europe can afford. Sure, these players are starting to get a bit old, but they can still play on for some years to come, just look at Paolo. If we want to rejuvenate the defence, I would much rather get Zapata, as he would not cost as much and probably wouldn't request to play as much as Barzagli for the first couple of years... |

QUOTE (dst @ Jul 8 2007, 09:55 PM) No... it's just that... anyone's better than Kaladze! Not really. Kaladze is a very good player in my opinion. This season got spoilt by injuries, but his 05/06 season was simply great. I would like to see some healthy competition between Kaladze and Bonera this season, two decent centre-backs, while Maldini of course will play when he's fully fit, but only when he's 100%! I, as Porty, do not want to see Maldini in the shape which he was in some games last season. |

I don't know about these players. Pato would be extremely exciting, but he won't be playing that much this season, and what Milan are looking for is obviously a striker who can deliver, perhaps not as much as Sheva did, but at least a good 15-20 goals a season. Sure, a talented player for the future is always useful, but I'm not sure that's what Milan needs right now. Young talents should be bought in the defensive areas instead, IMO.
If I were Galliani, I'd do everything I could to sign Drogba before he changes his mind and wants to stay in London. Sure, he would be hard to get, but at least he's willing to leave and might push Chelsea into a sale if he knows Milan are interested. He would be the perfect signing, a strong target player who is lethal in the box and would be extremely dangerous on set pieces because of his ability to head home almost anything. Milan haven't had such a player since Oliver Bierhoff, and now the best attacker in Europe could be within reach. I say, go for it! |

This is from the last 10 years or so, since I wasn't around for the glory days.
1. Paolo(The person who does not put Paolo in first place...) 2. Ambro(Oh, Massimo, one of the most loyal players Milan have ever had. I love you!) 3. Kaká(Extraordinary player, and he's still got a lot of years left in the top flight) 4. Albertini(You just gotta love Demetrio) 5. Nesta(My all time favourite defender. Such grace!) 6. Rhino(There is NO-ONE like him. No-one even close.) 7. Pippo(Our SuperPippo. I love him with all my heart!) 8. Sheva(Would have come higher if...yeah well, you know...:S) 9. Rui Costa(Never really hit it off, but considering his qualities, what an extremely loyal player!) 10. Leonardo(I don't remember too much about his playing days, except for the very last ones. However, he's brought a lot of brazilians here and his work outside of the pitch simply cannot be ignored. Grazie Leonardo!)
Waaaay off the list:
Bobo Vieri. Christian Abbiati. Marco Borriello. Rivaldo. Francesco Coco... |

QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Apr 5 2007, 10:44 PM) Dida is a world class Keeper who is capable of the most impossible saves.... But he is also capable of letting in the most ridiculus goals once in a while. Would you please tell me: When was the last time he made one of those saves? Last time he made one of those great saves was two seasons ago...before getting hit by that flare. QUOTE (Portugal @ Apr 4 2007, 02:39 PM) He was sh1t yesterday. 2nd goal was his mistake - what a fckin' poor defending on the play. Of course little Kaladze was on the play too. Sell them and buy real men. Real men? That's just cold blooded ignorance! He was probably the best player on the pitch, and it was definitely not his fault that Bayern scored their last goal. And if you want to call Ambro a bad player, even if that in its sense is terribly wrong, that's fine with me. But no one works like him for the team and no one has ever showed so much love to his club like Ambro. If anything, he's a real man. Perhaps you should take a look at yourself in the mirror... |

I am really worried about this 4th place. Don't forget Milan still have both Fiorentina(home) and Roma(away) left to face, and Lazio are playing like crazy people right now. I do think this will be a three teams foot race for those last two spots. Lazio, Milan and Viola(Palermo are not a serious contender if you look at their form...) Call me unfaithful or whatever, but I'm not sure Milan will be able to pull this off. I can't imagine a season without CL, and I bet Kaká can't either. QUOTE (dst @ Mar 11 2007, 01:43 PM) On the other hand the above description applies to the non-big-match-Ibra! He has always failed to deliver in important games, especially in the CL. He hasn't delivered neither with Ajax nor with Giuve, nor with Inter last week. We have only experienced his full potential against weaker opponents and in Euro 2004. I don't know if I can agree with you on that. When you speak about Ibra you must remind yourself that he's not an actual striker. He is no typical finisher, he has never been, so for him to score the winner and be decisive in that way has never been his trademark. Still, he has scored some good ones. As you said, Euro 2004 and also some in the Juve-shirt. Plus, he has scored in both games against Milan this season... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I can't believe I'm defending an Inter-player, but he's also swedish so I guess I'm quite in the middle of things here. QUOTE (Locke Lamora @ Mar 10 2007, 08:51 PM) Its with mixed feelings I receive these news (that sounded so retarded, I know). I really like Dida, but as he's getting older, he's getting slower, and his stength have always been his reflexes. I really love the current squad, but lets face it: For each passing year, the team gets older, and our star players are already past their prime. We need refreshments, but its like we don't want to change, and cling on the hope of some sort of rennaisance. You said it, brother. |
