Cerci is awful, these past few weeks have reminded me why I was dead set against him coming here

QUOTE (Linkman @ Apr 19 2015, 09:30 PM) Definitely both keepers.
Poor Shaquiri, who somehow got Shangai'd into this trainwreck Inter team.
Hernanes and Medel, who would be getting praise up the *** if he were in a team like Arsenal or Tottenham.
Menez--whether you like him or not, he's got more quality than half our team put together. Shaquiri has the potential to be world class, not there yet imo And I'm a big Hernanes fan but I don't think he's world class either. No comment on Medel As for Menez, he does have world class talent but he simply does not apply himself properly which is why he was and never will be considered a world class player

Like watching two old lumbering drunks groggily swinging punches at each other and missing every time.
Absolutely awful Milan derby which was an insult to the fixture's history - neither side has an ounce of quality, only Abate MIGHT get in a Serie A XI, the rest are just so far off what the Milan clubs should be. Really sad to see the current desperation of this once-grand fixture.
Ratings:
Lopez: 7 Made a few very good saves.
Abate: 6 Caught late on when Icardi was through but otherwise just a solid if uninspired display, rarely venturing forward.
Mexes: 9 Best I've seen him play for years. Soaked up everything, and did not deserve to score an OG.
Alex: 7 After a quiet and uninvolved start he was solid as hell and so unfortunate to get injured. Lack of match fitness not helping there. Blame Pippo for that one IMO.
Antonelli: 8 A couple of shaky moments aside he was excellent. Some great skill and very little got through him.
Poli: 6 Pretty ordinary. Brings very little to the team now. Works but that's about it.
De Jong: 7 Despite looking like his heart wasn't in it he was reasonable.
Suso: 6 Greedy on the ball (if impressive with it) and then faded viciously and wasn't seen in the second half at all. Doesn't look much different to Menez.
Bona: 7 Worked hard, as always, and did his usual all-round routine of supporting others.
Menez: 5 Quiet and wasteful with what little he did do.
Subs:
Paletta: 6 Decent enough.
Destro: 4 No impact - one chance and wasted it.
Cerci: 3 Torino Cerci is gone, replaced by a complete waste of space.
Pippo: Who gives a crap?
Meh, just another underwhelming display which sums up where Milan are right now. In the sewer, the midtable sewer and going absolutely nowhere.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Apr 19 2015, 09:48 PM) Shittiest second half I've seen us play in some time. We were just not there, which is baffling considering how decent we were in the first half. I thought we started the second how we left off but 10 minutes into it we simply checked out for some reason, maybe that's attributed to out fantastically sh!tty fitness levels

The issue about how the collective is the problem and not the individuals was best shown today imo
We had a really great first half imo, some players really shining as well and we simply could not capitalise on it, as always we simply lack a creative spark a general plan in terms of how we wish to break teams down is not there, so no matter how good or bad performances are, we're still going to suffer through it.
After the first half I was ready to say this was the best I've seen them play in a while
Bonaventura seemed to be back, some very smart movement/interchanging with Menez. Suso was looking great, Abate was supporting him well with his forward runs, Antonelli wasn't doing as much in the attack but was giving a solid showing regardless, Alex and Mexes looked seamless next to each other and were basically absorbing anything Inter tried to throw at them. De Jong was perfect as usual. Poli was doing his regular stuff with good result and I thought MvG was particularly good both on and off the ball.
But even with all of that, there's still obviously something very crucial that's missing.
Second half was a total regression to our usual ways

After the first half I was ready to say this was the best I've seen them play in a while I hate this phrase, I hate people using it on me when they disagree, but I have to use it here: 'We must have been watching different matches'. Second half was a total regression to our usual ways We're rubbish. That's it, plain and simple. From management to players, we're just weak. You're right about the collective as opposed to the individuals to an extent, but us being impressed by a Liverpool reject who was a free transfer sums up where we are. It's funny, because if we actually signed a single world class player, we'd be in awe of how good they were and would be thinking we'd signed the world's best player. You and I are doing it with Menez - a player who wouldn't even have been a reserve player in Allegri's Milan never mind Carlo's, yet we're attributing ability to him he probably doesn't actually have. It's just a weak Serie A and a weak Milan make him look good.
