Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic, Pato
Ambrosini, Pirlo, Boateng
Antonini, T.Silva, Nesta, Zambrotta
Abbiati

#12 Amelia, #13 Sokratis #14 Yepes #15 Flamini #16 Seedorf #17 Verdi #18 Borriello

For once I'm going to completely agree with you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Imo this is the best formation we can go out with. Ambro and Flamini rotating on a regular basis.

Back in the day we could play with only Rino, Seedorf and Pirlo in midfield, but that was when they were 5 years younger, our midfield guys just cannot handle such a work load anymore.

Boateng will give us some muscle in midfield, look at Inter for example, they have a lot of physical players in their midfield with only Sneijder as the creative force, that's why we usually get eaten alive in midfield against them because they easily overpower Pirlo, Seedorf and the lone DM

@ blue, you seem so sure, but I'm still not convinced it will happen and even though the prospect of a Dinho, Ibra, Pato attack does send the imagination wild, I can't help but think about the unrest he will bring into the changing rooms.

Borriello key to Ibra move?

QUOTE
Milan could be tempted to hand Marco Borriello over to Barcelona in order to bring in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it’s reported.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, the Rossoneri have not lost hope of taking Ibra back to Serie A.

The Swede is not part of Pep Guardiola’s plans and did not feature in last night’s Spanish Super Cup 4-0 thrashing of Sevilla.

Milan had originally planned to sell Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in order to raise funds for the move, but the Dutchman has repeatedly turned down offers from other clubs.

It’s now suggested Borriello could be loaned to Barcelona in a straight swap with Ibrahimovic.

However, as Vice-President Adriano Galliani explained, that still doesn’t solve the problem of Ibra’s wages.

The Gazzetta claims the only way the move could go through would be for Barcelona to cover half his salary for the season.

“In Spain the tax rate on wages for footballers is 24 per cent, while in Italy the gross is roughly double the net sum,” said Galliani last night.

“This is why I say that Ibrahimovic at Milan is 99.9 per cent a dream. Having said that, dreams are always enjoyable to experience, so we'll see what happens in the final week of the transfer session.”

I assume that is including Zlatan seeing he was in that squad. Well, then I would go for:

Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic, Pato
Ambrosini, Pirlo, Boateng
Antonini, T.Silva, Nesta, Zambrotta
Abbiati

#12 Amelia, #13 Sokratis #14 Yepes #15 Flamini #16 Seedorf #17 Verdi #18 Borriello

I'll go with this, too. An all round excellent line up.

Agreed.

After we signed Ibra, Milan must sell Huntelaar, Kaladze and Jankulovski as soon as possible. Then we're good to go.

This.

Ibra is, like, 3 times the player Bori is so it doesn't make sense for Barca to make this swap deal (before anyone points out to the two's salaries, I KNOW! but still it doesn't make sense for Barca to go for such an option when they can simply send him [name of oil money-rich EPL club's] way).

As far as we're concerned HOWEVER, Ibra and Borriello are similar players whereas Huntelaar has different characteristics. if it was up to me, I'd let Borriello go and keep the Hunter (considering that Ibra is a Milan player come September 1st). that way we'd have more options in attack that we can actually use (not let rot on bench).

(P.S: Yes! I believe the Hunter can still come good for us. it's just that our tactical setup didn't let him do it before)

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Aug 22 2010, 01:55 AM) *
so if zlatan arrives our squad will look like this:

Goalkeepers (3):

Abbiati
Amelia
Roma

Central Defenders (7):

Nesta
Sokratis
Silva
Bonera
Yepes
Kaladze
Onyewu

Outside Defenders (5):

Abate
Zambrotta
Oddo
Janku
Antonini

Defensive Midfielders (4):

Flamini
Gattuso
Ambrosini
Strasser

Creative Midfielders (4):

Seedorf
Pirlo
Boateng
Merkel

Wide Forewards or Wingers (5):

Ronaldinho
Pato
Verdi
Odumadi
Adiyiah

Strikers (4) :

Borriello
Inzaghi
Huntelaar
Ibrahimovic

32 Players total.

----

Thats a huge squad, I hope allegri will be okay. This means that 9 players will not even get called up and furthemore, 14 won't even see the bench (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Thats crazy imo, I could never deal with such a large squad. I'd personally accept at max 25, prefer 23.

--------------

Now here's the million dollar question:

We are versing Inter. Pick your squad of 18; state your starting 11 and formation. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

If Ibra comes, Huntelaar goes. Also, players like Strasser, Merkel, Verdi and Odumadi are not even worth mentioning, considering they're youth material and will most likely play with the primavera than the first squad. From the remaining bunch, Kaladze and Jankulovsi are out of the club's plans and players like Roma, Onyewu, Oddo, Gattuso and Inzaghi will rarely see the light of day. So, in terms of numbers, I'd say we're fit.

YOU KNOW but fail to see THAT is why it makes sense. Zlatan isn't in Barça first team plans. He is way too expensive to keep as backup (Barça are loaning lots of money), Borriello isn't. That makes Borriello as backup more sense.

Also, I wonder how smart it is to have Zlatan in your squad without giving him a starting spot. He must not like it.

As I said in my post, there are other options in front of Barca if they want to get rid of Ibra.

Maybe... Though, who is also a possible signing without too much effort (using money), who is at least as good as Borriello? It's not like that Borriello is THAT bad.

Getting rif of Borriello wouldn't be a smart move. Huntelaar one the other hand could be the one. Gee, Huntelaar is one of the biggest MF mistakes ever. I remember how many posters here (me included) were sure he'd be a great move.

Btw. why the hell is Abate considered a RB or defender?? That should be stopped, because it's very disrespectfull to real-professional defenders and fullbacks. I know, Leonardo played him there, but then again, he's also a semi-profesional coach.

It's not, it's disrespectful to Abate to say what you just said. Surely considering the little he was played as right back, he wasn't as awful as right back you make it out to be. There is just a lot of room for improvement. I believe against the weaker sides he wouldn't be a bad right back for us.

I dont want to hurt anyone about Ibra and i dont know what he really could do but someone that i was hoped for was Edin Dzeko , who is in love with Milan and 24 years old instead of 28 of Ibra plus that for me Dzeko is more flexible and technical than Ibra, Who will be your choice ?
