This is the big one. When the draw was made I thought we didn't stand a chance, but having really done a deep dive into Arsenal this past week, I really think we can get through this round.

Arsenal are in deep crises atm. And with the way we're playing we'll be more up for it imo. The derby being cancelled gave us some much needed rest, although the cause of that is one of great sadness. So we should be fresh and able to really assert our authority on the match.

They struggle big time when teams go at them and challenge them physically. They won't have any of their big strikers available either. So we need to make this count and really capitalize on what must surely be their worst moment under Arsene Wenger

Anyway, onwards to Arsenal. Really nervous about this one, because they will be really looking to make a statement and they have the quality. Plus, they only have the Europa League to play for if they wish to make it to UCL next season.

Did you watch them against Brighton Jack? Honestly, I haven't seen a team looking that defeated in quite a while. Not even us in our worst periods. They looked like they barely wanted to be there yesterday. It was shocking for me to watch. They looked exactly the same against City, but I thought that it was just City making them look really bad, but that's not the case. They seem like they've completely given up and they seem to have turned their backs on Wenger as well.

We'll be fitter, stronger, quicker and hungrier. This is the perfect moment to play them. And missing out on this great opportunity by not bringing our best to the table would be a real shame.

Thus game really shows how in sync we were with Romagnoli and Bonucci. Zapata is all over the place. Same with Borini, we miss Calabria

Why don't our strikers just take the penalties FFS??

Rodriguez keeps missing, and now Kessie as well

Had it not been for VAR we'd have been f@cked over today

I still don't understand how we can have great set-piece specialists like Hakan and Suso + 2 very capable strikers and they do not take the penalties.

Exactly!Agreed. What I saw today is the classical Milan that has been doing well with Gattuso. The Hakan-Cutrone-Suo partnership always working so well. Some good play honestly. We've been problematic on the defense as is obvious. You can clearly see the drop in Bonucci's quality in this game. He was just so used to having Romagnoli there.

All in all, good game. We are having solid performances in Serie A. Although, it is getting harder and harder each game!!

Yes. Why not Silva ffs? He certainly needs some goals.

I don't think Bonucci dropped in quality himself, but he and Romagnoli had formed a formidable partnership and they're very much in sync with each other on the pitch. The offside line is generally perfect, their interceptions and movements also complement each other, with Zapata today I think Bonucci was hyper-aware of him and I personally do not understand how Rino would start him over Musacchio who imo is a very good defender (just not good enough to play ahead of Bonucci or Romagnoli but when one of them is out it simply HAS to be HIM to start)

Honestly, I don't understand how Zapata can still command such respect. I think it's been 4 or 5 coaches now who still have so much faith in him, this when he's been a liability basically throughout his time with us

As for the game in general. We got lazy after scoring the goal (this is a problem that we've been having for a long time now, Rino needs to be at his best to beat it out of them) We fell asleep and conceded two quick gaols (thanks in part to a couple of defensive errors). We were just being lazy before we conceded, we slowed down the play to a crawl and were happy to pass it around aimlessly. At least this shows us that the players are not letting their heads drop any longer when things don't go their way. We put the shift in today and won this through hard work and determination.

We're not going to walk games each week, sometimes some will be more difficult then others, but sometimes we also make a meal out of games and make things harder on ourselves. Chievo are fighting the drop, so you would expect them to give it all they have

I thought they'd give it to him tbh. Rodriguez first and now Kessie being our regular spot kick takers just makes no sense

Also regarding Rino, I did not like the Zapata pick personally and I think he should be starting with Silva and introducing Cutrone in game, but generally speaking, he's really showing good tactical acumen, his subs have also been very inspired as of late and have proven to be the difference makers for us
