QUOTE Ruud Set For Milan Move?
Real Madrid forward Ruud van Nistelrooy could be set for a switch to AC Milan, according to Spanish daily Sport...
The pro-Barcelona daily states that Ruud, having conquered the Dutch, English and Spanish leagues, is eager to make his mark in Italy as his career begins to draw to a close.
And with AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi looking to secure the services of a top-notch striker, it could be a match made in heaven.
However, there are some issues here. Not only is Ruud said to be happy at the Bernabéu, but he's also recently penned a "lifetime contract" that will see his deal, which currently expires in 2010, automatically renewed if he plays 35 matches a season.
He and president Ramón Calderón were delighted to secure such a contract, and as such the prospects of his leaving seem slim.
Nonetheless, Sport claims that this agreement was made with the unspoken assumption that the player could move elsewhere if an appropriate offer came in, and a €7m deal from Milan, plus a three-year contract for the player, could well be the transfer in question.
Madrid paid Manchester United €15m for the Dutch striker, and it's hard to say that they haven't already had their money's worth. This season alone, he's hit 12 Liga goals in 21 games, and 16 in 25 matches overall.
Yet with Calderón denying that there are to be wholesale changes this summer, such a move seems unlikely, despite earlier reports that his poor fitness this season has been a little upsetting in the board room

Not a big fan of Ruud Van Horseface, personally. He's a box striker too, and, well, we've got one of those.

I think if Gila leave (and there's 70% chance that he will) RVN could be a great replacement, as for Pippo well I think we'll agree that we need a replacement for him, and in my opinion Gomez is the one, but we'll probably wait till he reaches the 30's (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

do we really need a big name striker signing?Considering mostly we play with 4-3-2-1 next year,wouldnt be better signing a complete CM and World Class Rb instead of a striker?Pato has been exceptional,same goes for Paloschi,i see the first times of Benzema in Paloschi,in addition he still has rooms for improvement.Pato,Paloschi,Sheva and inzaghi are enough for striker department if you ask me.Milan's problem could be side backs and in central midfield,as Seedorf is 32 years old and a player who has never been a consistent player,also considering he even doesnt have the continuity in the game,Ambrossini is good but he adds little to our game.A complete midfielder like Aquilani or Moutinho or Hamsky would provide us what we lacked in midfield,also Side backs,i think we should sign one more SB except Zambrotta as the side backs are the most important part of our game,as we need a width on the flanks to provide to Kaka spaces that he needs,also opening up the defences,even Players like Lell or Clerc are welcomed,hope to sign Bastian and Lell from Bayern,they would be a bargain.
maybe we are the only team in the world which is lacking squad deep with +27players,Frey,Mexes,Flamini,Dinho and Zambrotta are great additions but not enough,we should add at least one SB and one complete midfielder,also Scweinsteiger would be good additon,also considering his versatility.

If I could pick any young Italian mid to sign, it'd probably be Fiorentina's Montolivo. Don't think it's likely but he'd be my pick. I like Aquilani too, and that one may be more possible, given the apparent friction between him and...someone (coach? owner?) at Roma.

I just don't see why you think they are complete, they're talented, young, but complete??? It takes someone like De Rossi to be complete (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

complete midfielder?he is the one who can play 2 part of the game and has continuity,just look at Aquilani,he can defend,he is skilled,quick,read the game well,has work rate and influence,his shoots are good,he can be the playmaker when needed,he can play in high tempo,pressing and his dribblings are nice,complete midfielder as he has everything.
this is why i want to see;
Gattuso-----Pirlo---------Aquilani ----
