QUOTE (Fishdoll @ Sep 28 2017, 10:59 PM) I'm not sure Montella is either, Han. He effed up this game too - we squeaked out the win with a Cutrone goal in stoppage time.
I am wondering if Milan can afford any more patience with Montella. Yup. Today was supposed to be an easy game, at home against a team that on paper should have not posed a challenge. And yet we let them score twice in less than 10 minutes. Did not see the game (working), but from the comments this was another lifeless performance. No signs of improvement. This is not Berlu's Milan any more. The new owners put in some serious money this year. Even assuming they have deep pockets, we cannot operate at a loss or we will have problems with FFP. We really need to get to CL, or we are in trouble. We cannot afford to sink too deep in Serie A, and we cannot afford to get booted out of EL either, which is bound to happen if we play this way against stronger opponents. If I was in Fassone's shoes, I would be starting to get very, very nervous. EDIT: This sums it up nicely. This too. Key point from the second article, "Milan have played 11 competitive matches this season and had a full preseason with which to develop an understanding within the squad". How much more time do we want to give Montella? Do we wait until CL is out of reach?

QUOTE (Forza Milan! @ Oct 4 2017, 01:30 AM) Another reality check. Explains why 7th in Serie A at -9 from the top is a real serious problem. I think whoever wrote that article didn't really investigate the backdrop nor has done any research. It's basically a doomsayer, Montella out-er trying to sound all deep and scientific. This isn't anything we don't know. Han Li's investors all backed out due to tighter government constraints. He took a liquid injection from Elliot. And that debt has to be repaid by 2018. This was transparent right from the off. Now that's a liquid injection of 350 odd million. Is that author stupid enough to think that amount can be paid off with just CL revenue and scudetto wins? No. That Elliot debt was always meant to be re-financed. The loan from Elliot was for emergency cash. The equivalent of swiping a credit card I guess? So now Li's looking for partners to re-finance things. Yes. We know. Fassone also mentioned this to us. We'd need re-financing regardless of if we win the scudetto or not. Our success would however make FFP look pleasing because we have new revenue streams from increased CL TV money, hopefully new sponsors etc. So no - to tie up Elliot with our performance is poor research as far as I can see.

However, (unlike CM) this is generally a "Milan friendly" site. Also, the article does quote a report from Reuters, which made the news a few days ago. And while I agree that qualifying for CL is not going to pay off the debt, *not* making CL is quite likely to cause us financial problems, both direct (loss of revenue) and indirect (loss of confidence among investors or bond holders).

Again. I'm not questioning that Li is looking for new investors. But to say Li is looking for investors because he wants to bail out or he's a Ponzi scheme owner is to exaggerate issues. I agree with you on the CL loss of revenue hitting us. We'd have to sell one of the new signings I guess. Probably the ones who haven't settled in much. At the moment, I'd sell Hakan.

Never said or implied this was a Ponzi scheme (don't believe the article did either). I still am a believer in Li & co. At the moment, I'd sell Hakan. If we don't make CL, I fear we will see a lot more than that, Donna probably will be the first in line.

QUOTE (drucurl @ Dec 18 2017, 06:33 AM) Hahahahaha! What're you talking about? We've got them right where we want them. If we'd just won the league on a trot, people would say it's because we spent all that money and that MONEY=TITLES! Now having lost 3-0 to Verona, we've finally given everyone a suitable handicap, so we can start chasing. On a more serious note - Mirabelli out!
