Milan claim that goalkeeper Nelson Dida will stay at the club next season – even if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

Talks between both parties concerning a renewal have stalled which did lead to claims that Dida could be sold as his present deal expires in 2007.

But the Italian giants maintain that the Brazil’s World Cup ‘keeper will still be guarding the Rossoneri net for the next 12 months.

“Our position as a club with regard to Dida has not changed,” said director general Ariedo Braida.

“If Dida decides that he doesn’t want to renew, then we will just have to accept his decision.

“But all that would mean is that Nelson will stay at Milan next season and will then be free to decide his future destination.”

The South American did have a nightmare campaign at the San Siro after some costly errors for the club.

Meanwhile, Milan-owned custodian Christian Abbiati is being associated with a move to Torino this summer.

Abbiati, an Italian international, spent last term on loan at Juventus and played a key role in their Scudetto success.

This is allright with me...it wise to keep Dida, as an insurance, and spend the money we planned to spend for a new keeper on some fresh sweepers and defenders (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

If MILAN will stay in Serie A could take Buffon and sell Dida

why?

i'm tired of people bashing dida for a few bad games...dida played amazing in the 2nd half of the season and played great in the World Cup.

Buffon is great, yes, but why sell a great goalie for a great goalie? i'd rather pick up a defender or a midfielder for that money

I thought about that too but if Buffon comes in for little and since Dida doesn't seem to be too fond of Milan I'd welcome him anyday (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

We're going to need a new goalie in a couple of years anyway ...

It wasn't few bad games it was an awful year. Buffon is much more reliable and overall better than Dida.

If we can get Buffon, the hell with Dida, we wouldnt really need him

But if we go down with Juve...

And how do you know that ?

Since his recovery he was anything but special for Juve .

I would say both are equals.

I really cant see why we should sell Dida. Perhaps if he wants to leave, ok. But I wouldnt trade him for buffon right now . In the end , Dida won were buffon failed too ...

Dida is good, Very good but he isnt always consistent

Buffon was a bit inconsistent after his injury but genreally he is very reliable

Sure DIDA can play very well for another 2 or 3 years maybe more but i said that MILAN should buy BUFFON if they remain in Serie A because he is younger and he is also a great goalkeeper
It's a great oportunity
But anyway i dont think that JUVE will sell him
Probably will give him on loan

Juve will have to sell their star players after this since they will surely be demoted, even their lawyer had no case and only wanted the club to go to serie B. Their stocks have plummetted, their TV rights contracts, nike and tamoil contracts will be cancelled, they will have to sell their players wether they like it or not because they need the money.

If we stay in serie A expect Buffon and Zambrotta to come to Milan, now that would be amazing.

we aren't saying he's not good...we're saying it's pointless to buy a great goalkeeper when we already have one...we should patch holes elsewhere on our team tha need to be patched.

and dida had anything but an awful year...after january his play was almost flawless. especially in the CL matches between Lyon and Barcelona
