Hernan Crespo has reiterated his desire to return to Italy, with the Argentina striker
claiming Chelsea are sympathetic to his plight. The forward had a fine last season at Stamford Bridge, helping the club secure
the Premiership title for the second successive year, but he was a reluctant
hero in West London as he was forced to return to England
after Milan failed to turn his loan move from the previous campaign into a permanent arrangement.
Crespo's desire to return to Italy has not dimmed and tentative
negotiations with both Milan and Internazionale have taken place.
"Everyone knows that I want to return to Italy," said Crespo. "Even
Chelsea, who want me to stay in England, understands my situation.
"I know that there are some conversations with Inter and Milan and I don't have
any problem in playing at any of those teams because I think I did it correctly
in both places."
With Milan currently defending themselves over match-fixing allegations, nothing
is likely to be decided until later in the summer but, with Chelsea having
secured the services of Andrei Shevchenko, they may allow Crespo to leave for the right price.
