St Etienne are considering a move for Milan midfielder
Johann Vogel as the French club continue plans for strengthening their squad.Having sold Didier Zokora to Tottenham Hotspur last week, St Etienne
have money to spend and a midfield to reinforce.
Among the club's purported targets is Switzerland international
Vogel, who featured for his country at the World Cup.
Vogel's club future is unclear due to Milan being under investigation in
Italy as part of a match-fixing scandal.
Even if Milan avoid any punishment, Vogel could be on the move
after a mixed debut season in Serie A following his switch from PSV Eindhoven.
Les Verts also have several other avenues to explore, with the
Ligue 1 side keen to buttress most areas of the squad.
Paris Saint Germain full back Stephane Pichot, Boca Juniors' Jose Maria Calvo
and Messina's Ivory Coast international Marco Zoro are in the frame.
Up front, St Etienne maintain an interest in Marseille forward
Peguy Luyindula, along with Portsmouth's Benjani Mwaruwari,
Sochaux's Ilan and Besiktas' Tomas Jun.
