Saw that. Does explain why Roma wasn't involved v Lugano.
I'll take Belotti reluctantly. Wouldn't be thrilled by him and Silva at the front but hope it proves me wrong.
Actually it's Suso, Bona and Romagnoli all staying back due to their injuries. Romagnoli's looks to be a bit more serious. He has a meniscus problem. Hopefully it can get healed up before the start of the season. If we're really going for a 3-man backline, we need to have all of the 3 CBs available
Have you watched Belotti Danny, and when I say watched, I mean
really watched, the man is a powerhouse. Auba is more of a stealth type striker who's very quick and always in the right place at the right time. But Il Gallo is just something more imo in terms of all round team play. He's strong, pretty fast, can play with his back to goal, on the counter, run channels, good header of the ball, and as x-off put it he's a modern day Vieri. If there is the slightest of opportunities we should get him. Add to that he's not going to request the insane salaries Auba would, he'd probably be more than happy with something around 2.5m

Belotti would be a top signing. Kalinic would be a huge step down.
Agreed on both counts

Wow, the Bonucci signing is World Class. One of the top 3-4 defenders in the world, and on top of that stolen from a direct rival for $40M. That is a statement signing. If we somehow manage to get Belotti after all of this, this may go down as the best transfer window ever.
This team is really starting to take shape. I would say that CL is looking better and better by the day with these guys. Add to the fact that most of the players we have brought in are young guys who will only get better, and things are beginning to look up for us. We deserve this after the last few years we have been through.
As to Danny's point about Alphas... Biglia and Bonucci definitely qualify as Alpha players. Biglia isn't the most technically gifted but he lifted an overall average Lazio team to become a dangerous squad since he has been there. Plus he plays for Argentina regularly and always looks like one of the leaders of that team when he plays with them. Bonucci goes without saying as an Alpha. The guy was one of the best players on the team that went to the CL final this year and he can bring his experience to a backline that is looking like the strongest in the league.
Agreed about the alpha debate. Also, Belotti might be young but he's a great personality to have on the team
As for our defence, I don't see it as the best in the league just yet, I think they have to actually play a game together before we can assess. Juve imo are still the best in that area
