Frey awaits Milan call
Monday 21 April, 2008
Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey is still considering a summer move to Milan, but is yet to receive an offer from the Rossoneri.
The 'keeper's agent Giovanni Branchini confirmed that no bids have come in for the French international, but did verify reports that the Viola are looking at alternatives.
“We have not received any proposals for Frey, nor have we any stipulation to sell the player,†explained Branchini.
“In any case, we are at issue with Fiorentina for investing resources into other goalkeepers.â€
The Frenchman has been in outstanding form this season, both in Serie A and the UEFA Cup, and has so far collected 43 appearances for the Viola.
The Rossoneri have already reportedly agreed a contract with Barcelona ace Ronaldinho and are expected to make a move for the Viola 'keeper in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the Via Turati club have received confirmation that Gennaro Gattuso is not looking for a summer exit.
The midfielder's agent has announced that the Italian international would like to extend his stay at San Siro, despite rumoured interest from Manchester United.
Claudio Pasqualin expects to meet Milan President Silvio Berlusconi in the near future to clarify Rino's position with the Diavolo.
“Rino is a Rossonero through and through like few others. We will meet with the club soon, but I believe it is Gennaro's true intention to remain at Milan.
“First, however, we have to speak with the club and then we will see,†concluded Pasqualin.
