Ibrahim Ba will scout for Milan in Africa after the midfielder brought his playing career with the Rossoneri to an end.

“I’m retiring from the game,” said the former France international. “It’s the right decision – I’m 35 and have been injured for a long time.

“However, I’ll still be involved in the game as I will work for Milan as a scout in Africa,” he continued.

Although the winner of eight French caps, the once highly-rated winger was actually born in Senegal.

Ba was initially snapped up by Milan in the summer of 1997 after he caught their attention in a superb Bordeaux side the season before.

However, he never really settled at San Siro and was loaned out to various clubs before playing his last competitive match in 2005 with Swedish side Djurgarden.

After remaining club-less in January 2006, he was surprisingly handed a Milan contract at the start of this season even if he never saw any competitive playing time.

I like Ba too. Must have something to do with his stellar footballing skills that was on display last season. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I actually thought maybe he wanted to coach or something. So the one last year on his resume was to add to his CV. But I guess it wasn't. I'l never quite figure out, the point in Ba's request to sign for Milan.

Ermm... what is it that you don't get? Would you rather train with Varese or with God? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That's a very positive development, indeed. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Not only will we free up space in our squad, we'll also have someone who could sign a young, strong lad from Africa. Our own version of Drogba, Essien or Eto, anyone?

I haven't watched Ba play, but still thank him for whatever you gave for Milan. Good luck with his new job, though.

$$$. Maybe he was short on cash, and wanted to play for another season? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It was that or he wanted to add something to his resume. Even he knew full well he may not get a healthy amount of games - 35 year old or not.

^^^

And in return he agreed to scout for Milan? I still don't know how much of an advantage it gave Milan. Must be one of those sympathy things.

So now we have Desailly and Ba scouting for us in Africa?
