The US are going through? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I didn't expect that.

With all due respect to Lippi and his great achievements, I hope goes. the last thing Italy need at this point is an oldie-lover, old-fashioned coach.

2008-09 was truly dark for the Italian football.

Kaka was class tonight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Congrats to the US!!

But seriously Lippi?! Has to go!!!

His call ups were all wrong his starting 11s wrong he only got lucky in the first game because of a questionable red and Rossi heroics.

The's old time stubborn coaches that are not willing to change and still think that this is 2003. Enough, if Italy go into the world cup with this squad, this humiliation will pale in comparison.

The only players from this current roster that should be included in the World Cup squad are:

Pirlo
Camoranesi
Chiellini
Gilardino
Rossi
Montolivo
De Rossi
Gamberini
Zambrotta
Gattuso
Santon
Buffon
Amelia.

All the others need to be finally dropped and be replaced by these

Santacroce
Aquilani
Giovinco
Cassano
De Ceglie
Ballotelli

I think that would be the best mix of youth and experiance. But Lippi will not be the coach to make these changes, Expect to see Toni, Cannavoro, Iaquinta and Grosso huffing and puffing around the field at the World Cup

I don't think that de rossi should be equalled with e.g. pirlo... he scored that really wonderful goal against the us, but he actually did nothing against egypt. he even didn't cover that egyptian(?)scorer. furthermore he did pass the ball very often to the opposite team.
and tonight he also didn't express anyhow. when the 2nd goal was scored by brasil he did do look awfully bad. he couldn't clear that one...
i'm not blaiming everything on him, don't get me wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) , but he was the one how really made me crazy because of him awfull playing...

Congrats!

A big fat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) at Lippi!!! However, this is better for Italy, the lower they get the better they react. Let's hope to see that where it matters next summer.

I really hope Pato comes on but knowing Dunga it won't happen (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Pato? He has no place in Ramires' Brazil! Seriously, who is this painfully mediocre douchebag?

It was Cannavaro that made the terrible mistake on the second goal. To actually see him reach Maldini's cap record was awful. He does not desrve to be a starter anymore.

With Lippi as coach I can't actually see them reacting. This is as good as it gets. Since when did Italy's national team become a collection of mediocre players from mid table Serie A teams. Half of that chosen squad does not deserve to be there especially when he's leaving top class talent back in Italy.

Lippi should have never took the job back. This will tarnish all that he accomplished in 06. Mark my words, should Lippi be the one coaching Italy at the world cup this Confederations Cup humilation will pale in comparison, not to mention the mud slinging that will ensue once the team returns to Italy
