Hmmmm, where to start.
Bonera looked superb tonight and generally our midfield looked good.
Ronaldo looks short of match fitness and lacked work-rate and it really showed tonight because the rest of the team worked very hard. Cafu looked good and defended well when needed, Clarence had a poor game and his passing was a little off, as for the next game Palermo are in awful form so 3 points are very much available.
Pippo should get a start and play instead of Ronaldo as wednesday may be a bit to quick for him. So another step closer to 4th place (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That was not Ambro, Gourcuff aimed the ball at the Siena defender's @ss and it went in

I thought Gourcuff was the next Zidane. Looks more like he's the next Lampard. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

still... I remember the games where **** teams looked like God playing against us...
*

Yeah but that was our low point of the season, we have been constantly improving. And players are finally getting back into for, mainly Pirlo who imo is the brain of the whole team and when he isn't functioning, Milan don't function

QUOTE (weeeow @ Feb 25 2007, 09:27 PM)
IMO Pirlo was the difference. He provided some through balls and accurate passes and his determinism showed. Pirlo caused havoc for Samp's defence with Pippo chasing his lob through balls. Andrea shined, and Ambro's goal was worth its weight in gold.
*

Yep exactly. Seedorf imo had a pretty good game also, didn't slow up the midfield, but wasn't sharp, Pirlo is getting back to his best and it really shows.

3 points were vital and we got them, but from what I heard we struggle to score yet again.

That's cause we were playing with only one striker, and that was Ronaldo. So go figure out... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

QUOTE (LaPalma @ Feb 25 2007, 09:32 PM)
You're right. This is not the Palermo we faced in San Siro last year. I'm quite convinced that they won't even be able to secure the 4th place. Anyway it won't be an easy match, as this one also wasn't easy.
Kaká was playing really good, but I missed the awesome passes he provided against Celtic. Ronaldo didn't do very much, but he faced a defense that wanted to kill him, and he played alone upfront. Cafu was a little bit back to his old self, though I still would have prefered Oddo. As already said, the ref was/is a joke.
And in the end 3 points is everything that matters (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
*

Yep exactly, Kaka and Ronaldo where getting manhandled out there, everytime they where about to accelerate with the ball to start an attack they would get hacked down.

The ref was the problem in this match imo, not Carlo's tactics and not the way the players played

We struggle becuase of the fact we where down to ten men, as I've previously said, R9 was forced to play really deep and at times we had no one in the box, we looked like Arsenal when they play Henry alone upfront.

Also Kaka and R9 where getting fouled everytime they had the ball.

Samp are a very organised side and we always find it hard against them, in fact we haven't been able to beat them for quite some time now.

As I said, the problem in this game was the ref, That was never a red for oddo, if we had stayed with 11 men for the entire match I'm pretty sure we would have scored earlier.

Finally a mention for the guy who is the future of our defence. Bonera (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Again what a class performance, he was practically a one man show dealing with Quagliarella and co. Simic wasn't doing enough to help him and imo oddo got sent off mostly becuase he was cought sleeping

Before we all get carried away about playing in ten men, let us not forget that Samp also were playing in ten men for a very long time also...
