Yup. It's okay to disagree, why else would this forum work if it everyone was in agreement all the time. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But it should all be kept reasonable.

Actually Milan couldn't do 'jack' in the CL if there was no Kaka. football is a team work but it's decided by superstars most of times. that's why I don't agree with this part: "One man can't change the destiny of a match. Never has anyone, nor will". besides I have Maradona to prove you wrong. it has been won by superstars before and will be won by superstars in the future. that's the difference between football and basketball or volleyball!

Besides if the derby was won by the whole team, why is Pippo getting ALL the credit? I don't get it. if there's someone who deserves the most credit, it's Kaka. As for
*

That's the bit where I'd have to humbly disagree with you. There is a reason it's called team sports. At one hand you have someone like Kaka scoring goals, and at the other hand a leaky defense and a shaky keeper. Guess who'd win? Maradona, he was a titan, yes, but he too needed a team effort from the rest of his mates. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Super stars are needed, and they more often than not decide the game, but it'd never be a good idea to disregard other members of a team. They put in as much effort, it's a different matter that they lack in skills, experience, or star power.

It looked 24-karot gold. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) They'll need to improve on their camera work, of course. Which they will as they get experience.

Woo! I'm so happy about the result (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I couldn't catch the game, but kept checking my phone every 5 mins for updates. Gonna catch a repeat of the game later on today, but from the sounds of it we did the business. And Fio losing was the icing on the cake (AND the Mutu red card!).

I've had a flick through this thread and Pippo seems to be the main source for debate. My feelings about him are simple - keep him around as long as possible, but make sure we bring in a suitable replacement in the summer.

To be honest, we played like a team was the reason we won. Everyone chipped in with their best, including Favalli, Gattuso, Janku, Seedorf, Nesta, Kaladze (sorry dst (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) but he didn't make one of his trademark mistakes), Kalac, Inzaghi and Kaka, and even the fans. One man can't change the destiny of a match. Never has anyone, nor will.

Can we do without Pippo? No. Can we do with Kaka? Never. Each has its place in Milan. And no disrespect intended, Kaka can't do jack if the midfield doesn't provide him with those juicy through balls. Football is an easy game, after all. Tell Kaka to win the ball near our defense, run all the way through the field, and score goals: He'll be wearing the Madrid jersey before you know it. Wow we reach 4th and it brings about kaos! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I think its pretty simple. Pippo is great for the big occassion or the pressure situation like we've been in the last month. He'll miss lots of chances that quality strikers in the world may knock in 99% of the time. So you have to take the good with the bad. I think everyone agrees he lacks any true technical ability, its simply about being in the right place at the right time. With the number of times he can do it and score, you have to consider it almost a skill.

Gila simply doesn't do this. He does not rise for the big occassion. He has scored some important goals this season against lesser opposition, but I personally don't even see him as a threat to score when he's on the park. He is just simply not good enough for the milan. FACT.

As far as the midfield goes for providing for these two, when kaka' plays well seedorf generally plays well. I think its ever clear kaka' is the motor/heart of the team. Some have said pirlo is the engine, he may set the tempo but the attacking creativity stems down to kaka'. We've had a fully fit kaka' for the past 5 games and he's contributed 5 goals and 4 assists. He's really been dangerous drifting out wide and that pass to inzaghi in the first half was world class on the edge of the box. He's starting to look an even more complete player, next season really could be something if we get the right reinforcments with a fit ricky. In terms of wasted chances kaka' would probably on par with pippo over the last 5 games. He's been a little bit indecisive, its a minor flaw because the opportunities arise again and again and eventually the goal comes. And it applies to pippo too. If the result comes theres no real need to reflect on the missed chance. And that is one massive flaw of gila, he'll get several good chances and not convert and were left to reflect on that mistake. THATS THE DIFFERNCE (I think :S).

The liability of ambrosini is another very tough one. No one works harder than him, he just churns up the miles. His pressure on vierra lead to the kaka' goal. But he does make clumsy tackles in bad positions quite often. Again its that you got to take the good with the bad. He's never had the best tackling technique. When a goal results, its when we look to palm off the blame. I thought it was a pretty good FK, kalac wasn't too badly positioned, but once it got over the jumping wall, its awefully hard to pick up and dive to the right. None of our defenders are quick and when were hit on the counter at times were forced to make 'professional' fouls eg bonera. These sort of tackles generally occur only when the defence is stretched.

Haha anyway don't know if any of this makes point or makes sense but ill post it anyway, since i wasted time typing it. Bottom line is you have to take the good with the bad. Thats why gila gets crucified cause theres lack of good and a whole lot of bad.

Anyway we beat the merda! Were currently 4th! And flamini is on the verge of signing after completing the medical! These might be the steps in the direction most the forum agree we need to move in.

Forza Milan! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

It's pretty evident. I'm sure Kaka appreciates a good, sliding tackle from Nesta when an opposing player is in our penalty area and about to score. And Nesta and other team members do the same when Kaka makes an assist or scores. If in doubt, just ask them. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Most star players are great, and pull off their magic every now and then. But even a crap player puts in a good effort sometimes that may change the course of a match, or put the outcome in our favor.

Case in point: As Porty would say: "Ambrosini is F useless player". And irrespective of him being a freeloader, he had a hell of a match yesterday, completely took Viera out of the game. Took him on for a challenge, won the ball, passed to Kaka, who then scored the vital second goal. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

All players sweat the same after each match, they put in more or less the same effort. And if the team manages to pull off an important victory, celebrating it together is just what the doctor ordered. It's a completely different thing that we all have our own opinions about certain players. For some Kaka is Milan, for others its King Pippo. But the reality remains that Kaka, Inzaghi, Pirlo, Ambrosini all are what makes Milan the absolute best damn club in the world. FACT. @ acid

Vieira?... at Inter he hasn't been one/fifth of what he was for Arsenal. he's a pretty ordinary player nowadays. wish Ambro could take Cesc out of the game... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleepysmiley03.gif)

i agree with prince. Pirlo is no longer required in this team to play well. Now its kaka. If kaka plays well, we win. If he doesn't we tie or lose.

We'll get a chance to test that theory next weekend at the San Paolo in Naples.

(for what it's worth, I disagree with the theory. A Pirlo who dictates tempo and has his passing shoes on - if not his free kick shoes - is in my opinion veryvery important to how Milan does as a team. I recognize that others don't share the view, however.)

IMO our game depends on Kaka's form. when he was not on form [before his back injury], Milan was not on form. now he's back to ideal form, Milan are back to ideal form, while Pirlo still is not on ideal form.
