He's a tall and young lad, but second choice keeper as the current keeper of Santos is also the club captain. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Having said that, Brazil produces very decent keepers, and if our scouts are impressed with him then he may be a good purchase. One never knows he may turn out to be the next Tafferal. Or Dida. Or Julio Cesar, for that matter.

But he's definitely lanky, almost as good a height as Buffon, and being only 20 may even grow a couple of inches. I'd certainly have preferred the Russian dude in the Euros (even though he let in seven goals against Spain). Or Lloris. But if it's got to be young, let it be from Brazil.

Honestly, I never understood why a great european club goes for a Brazilan keeper! We should look to an Italian, German or French GK!

price is the biggest issue and in terms of skill they're not much different. this guy probably cost us 600-1 mil while european young keeprs start from 2 mil.

That's true... was there any other follow -up on this story? as far as I heard it's mainly speculation... but apparently we do buy him, he'll be loaned to Santos immediately for a season? We'll be buying like half of his contract.

There's still nothing official re: Felipe, but Italian media sources seem pretty sure it's a done deal -- that he's going to be bought and then left at Santos on loan for the upcoming season.

This sounds quite good, but the only concern I have is Felipe did caught for having possession of a illicit substance and was suspended for some time... I really hope he is past that.

CMF, I'd like to believe things are being kept under wraps deliberately. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Milan is keeping the new keeper (pun always intended) signing as low profile as they can. There has been news trickling in from a lot of different sources about Felipe, but like Tennie said nothing concrete (as in official).

I'd sit and wait to see how things turn out.

thers reason behind it acid. We keep it hidden because of the fact that if we just blow it out of proportion the price blows out of proportion. The more media a player gets the higher his price tag gets. He could be pure trash worth 500k max but say we expose media on him than eventually they'll start focusing on him and the club could easily sell him for 2-3 million. To everyone here believe it or not we are a f*kin huge club. NO matter how much we get insulted by haters everyone still watches our every move. When we go for someone it is a big deal and because we milan are investing in a player it means they're automattically class therefore the club selling the player can expose media and make into a star in less than a week. This stardom increases prices drastically. Look at ivanovic now and how becasue were going to a bidding war with juve his price will be around 20. The Uruguayan kids are a good example of what we should be doing always. Go in get them avoid media coverage and you'll pay a good price and there will be no competition.

ivanovic will not go for for 20, chelsea rarely ever make much profit off the sale of their players and he is surplus and are not in the ideal position to demand a lot.

and there hasn't been any sudden media coverage with ivanovic, juve/chelsea/utd have been after him for the past 2 years. my bet would be between 12-15m max (12m being a fair price from what i've seen)

the thing is clubs rarely finalize deals as fast as possible, negotiations can take a while (like in the case of ronaldinho) and it is nomrally to their advantage to hold off and allow other clubs to come into the mix and raise the bids.

Juventus have shown they are extremely cheap and slow with transfers. The bid is NOT going to go up for 20 million with regards to Ivanovic. Either way, we have other options including Alex Silva. However, I do agree with you that the haters follow us every step. I've encountered as real madrid fans being the most hostile towards our club...

I have a feeling we will pay roughly 2 million for him on loan, and then firm out the deal later on (this depends if he does well).

you guys assume the fact that we are going to get him in the summer. If chelsea knows they can get 20 for him if in jan or next year they'll wait. Look what they did to sheva/malouda/anelka. Who is ivan to say anything against them.
