i very well understand that this is very well the right move for the club. Sentiments aside, this could be a master stroke if we reload with some dynamic signings. However, I can't help but feel a little skeptical about this whole situation.

In the past AC Milan was never the type of club that would sell a player like Kaka. Brocchi came out in a recent interview saying that Italian football is struggling, and that in the past milan would have never sold such an iconic player who was as devoted to the club as ricky was.

QUOTE
"Italian football at the moment is suffering, and as in life, to go forward, you must have the rules," said Brocchi. "AC Milan had to heal and so the choice to sell Kakà was forced.

"Over the years the team has perhaps had strong relationships with certain players and if they made this choice it means that there was no other alternative.

"On other occasions, they would never have sold a player of such importance and with such devotion to the club."

To me this is bigger than just us letting Kaka go. Galliani has been saying now for quite some time that Italy's tax laws are preventing Italian clubs for competing with the likes of Barcelona, Madrid, Man U, and Chelsea for wages and transfer fees. He and silvio have mentioned the toll the world credit crunch is taking on business. We sold Kaka because we're in debt, like the rest of the Italian clubs and Silvio is refusing to invest. All this coupled by the fact that Oil Money has flooded English football, we seems outpriced of the transfer market for top players..on top of that our good players are everybody's targets. the club seem vulnerable right now...pato is already talking sh!t showing where his thoughts lie..I feel like we've recently gotten a little taste of what it's like to be an Ajax fan after the early 90s..I hope this is not the beginning of a cycle of producing nice talents only to see them plucked away.

It will take some masterful leadership by management and leonardo to make the right moves for the future and I'm hoping this money is invested in Dzeko, Hernanes, Zapata, Maxwell (free), recall Abate (maybe wait on Palo), sell Kaladze, Oddo. So far we've lost Kaka, Gourcuff, and we've seemingly unsettled Pato - poor start to the market.

I hope we do well on the market to prove my skepticism wrong, cuz considering who we just lost, it's taking me a little while to warm to the idea of operation rejuvenate R80.

less than 5 minutes to Kaka's presentation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

And the more time passes the more I become convinced we won't bring any worthy replacements for him. a few more school kids and our amazing summer is over.

I do think that financially Milan made the right choice. Kaka is not the player he was a few months ago before his injuries, you could see that in the confederations cup, where he played great imo but still not at what was previously his best, he's probably lost about 50% of his acceleration which is what made him so explosive to begin with.

But its still sad to see him in a Real shirt. A classy player both on and off the pitch going to play along the likes of Marcelo, Pepe, Ronaldo, etc.

This may surprise some of you guys, but I'm already over Kaka'. Strangely, I have nothing against him moving to Real Madrid. Milan in need of money, they had to sell, Kaka' would only go to Real Madrid if he ever left Milan. Both parties accomplished what they wanted or needed.

I think most Kaka's fans will probably feel the same way I do. I do have a feeling that some Kaka fans were Sheva's fans. The same situation is occurring like when Sheva left. When he left, of course initially we felt hard done by, but we got over him because we moved on with Kaka'. Now we can move on with Pato.

Like I said, financialy it was the right choice to make.

But taking into account that he was playing badly last season and we still relied on him so much it's going to be a big loss and we'll struggle a lot next season.

And its still sad to see him in the Real shirt no matter how he was playing for us

I don't think we'll struggle too much without Kaka. Not as much as we did before whenever he was out injured anyway... our play relied heavily on him so whenever he was out we looked lost but now we'll have to adapt to a different setup right from the start.
