QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Dec 20 2008, 09:41 PM) I'd need to see the highlights to check if the goal was onside or not. Even Cesar saw the offside. Why would you need highlights? |

QUOTE (dst @ Dec 9 2008, 04:42 PM) Oh my this is grave. And he really has been our best player. Flamini and Ambrosini would be enough but two DMF's are too few for Ancelotti... more Emerson to come, we're doomed!
edit: Did he get injured when he made that silly tackle? That was a reckless move damn it! Yes, the injury is a result of that tackle. This is bad news. I really hope he'll get healed quicker as it's common for him to disappoint early predictions. Get well, Rino. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/king.gif) |

7:0 Pato hat-trick, double by Kaka, double by Dinho - Carlo for life! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Seriously, 3:1 seems satisfying. Catania is probably the most defensive team in Serie A, but once we break the dead lock, it should be easy to finish them. The team knows how to react in situations like this. Besides, this season, San Siro is our hope unlike last year when we relied mainly on away games. Gattuso eating Masscare and Pato finally delivering a good game - great stuff. No chance for Sheva unfortunetely. |

QUOTE has there been a game yet this season where emerson has helped us win, where we can say wow, without emerson we wouldn't have won that game? Well, you cuold say SOMETHING like that for the Atalanta and Siena games. Weak forwards, weak Kaka/Dinho, incredible Rino and Emerson. Weird games, but those are the facts. |

Crouch will seek revenge for Athens. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Senderos should keep him away from Dida. Difficult match. A draw makes sense. 1:1 with Sheva scoring of course. |

Emerson was Capello's fetish. I doubt he'd have made it to Turin and Madrid if it wasn't for Don Fabio. I don't hate him, I don't rank him as our worst player, I even think he's performing much better than some of our star players. It's just that I don't trust him and his transfer was rather pointless. Ambro has always been a better player in my book although Emerson shined under the spotlight /for some reason/. When Flamini gets used to italian football, it will be between him and Ambro. And here comes the question - why is Galliani renewing Emerson's contract? Another future scout? He looks kinda dumb for that job. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Agree on Cardacio. He's also a good passer and would be a better Pirlo replacement than Flamini/Rino. |

I heard he's not friendly with De Biasi. Rosina could always be in favour of his club. In last season's games, he was the only Toro player to cause Dida/Kalac trouble. It will be Amoruso this time, I guess. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

Rosina is not in Gazzetta's predicted line-up? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) That's a relief. A player I'd like to see in a red & black shirt one day. |

Quite a discussion. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I defend Carlo all the time /infact, I think he got more compliments from me last season than now/, but his season is average so far. Yes, we're winning, but the tactics are all wrong. I understand that Carlo's idea of one striker and midfield orientated passing game for 90 minutes, is a result of Pirlo's injury, but things got out of hand when he used a not completely fit Pippo in an X-mas tree against an awful, poorly defending, poorly attacking and poorly performing team like Chievo. It Italy, there's a HUGE difference between home and away games, so I completely accept his defensive thinking against Atalanta - a team we struggle against quite often. I understand he wants to get R80 under fire in the away games, because adding Ricky, Seedorf and Borriello to Dinho's good form, we really don't need a second striker against... Lecce. However, neither Ricky, nor Seedrof made any impact whatsoever. Where are the substitues? 79-th minute, late substitue, Pato coming on. 30 seconds later, we scored. I mean, wasn't that the strongest prove that you're mistaking somewhere with those identical tactics? A bigger proof than your usual media talk you've used to. And scoring only one goal at Via Del Mare was the biggest problem since... well, we didn't win. If it wasn't for Borriello's misses, if it wasn't for Ricky is poor finishing, if it wasn't for the poor pitch... Well, "if" is not always on your side, Carlo. You of all men, should know that. I guess you're both right and wrong. Jack's post is great. You could really learn something there. I myself, got tired of SAF comparissons while out of 4 matches, SAF beated Carlo just once, thanks to a Rooney stunner. He didn't solve Carlo's puzzle back in 2005 and 02.05.2007 was without a doubt, his worst nightmare /and we all know how long he's been coaching MU/. 7:1 against Roma - a team that Milan actually failed to beat this very same season. Remember how everybody predicted easy win for United? Remember the odds for Milan winning the CL? Well, I sure do. Carlo did it. Without Ronaldo, Sheva, Rui, Stam and plenty of injuries /Pirlo, Nesta, Pippo, Dida/. So, do we all agree that he's at least a very good coach? And I'm not living in the past or something. I just want to make it clear why he is still here, after last season's disgrace. Why other clubs sack their coach and buy a whole bunch of new players? Well, because other teams fail to win anything huge. Chelsea? Bayern? Real? Give me a break. I don't see any major changes in Liverpool. Benitez is surviving just like Carlos is surviving. Well, they deserve it. Because both Milan and Liverpool are now on the right track of winning the leagues. Very few great performances, but still on top. I'm also tired of Wenger comparisons. Talk about stupidity. People actually dreaming of replaing Carlo for Wenger. A 100 % loser who lost a CL final in the stupidest way possible /oh, well, Carlo also did that, but got his sweet revenge/. Arsenal are terrible. The frenchman forgot what footbal is in his world of youngsters winning titles and him, being the best coach in the universe. Well, it doesn't happen. You blame Carlo for not admitting his mistakes, but he's at least not arguing with referees for a throw in. Primavera - this is Carlo's only permanent problem. He doesn't rely on players like Darmian and Paloschi. No, we don't know whether they're worhy, but we'll never know with that kind of thinking. Favalli might perform well from time to time, but you simply can't find a flame in him. He has seen it all. Sometimes, the burning desire all youngers have when they touch San Siro, transforms into huge potential. That was the case with Ricky. And remember how Paloschi scored in the 18-th second of his debut? Is he a future superstar? No. Is he reliable from time to time? He sure is, because he wants to prove something. People like Favalli and Emerson have nothing to prove. They could perform well due to their experience, but they could be terrible for the very same reason. Apathy. One of the main criticisms against Carlo are his bad motivating skills. Well, tell me something - how do you motivate Seedorf? How do you explains him that beating Lecce is as important as beating Inter? Paolo, Nesta, Gattuso - they all play better against big clubs and seem to understimate smaller ones. I find it hard to believe that a new coach is capable of fixing this problem. However, I'm positive that using the Primavera is one of the solutions. |

Sheva won't even play for Ukraine? Man, and we thought Chelsea brought his worst days. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I like what Sereni said about us scoring 6 goals. We could rent him if the prediction turns out right. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

Oh, come on! Referees, luck, fluke goals?! We are a far better team than last year and we are just one point behind Inter! It's a great achievment actually. If you want shows every game, chose another team. If you've become a Milan fan because of Van Basten and Gullit - sorry, you'll never see a production like that again. Carlo's a defensive coach. He doesn't want to get our players more tired than they already are. Injuries, tired players, strange rotations and at some point, we have to use the Primavera. I also wish we could beat our opponents with two attackers and still be solid in defence and midfield, but obviously it doesn't happen at training. Nesta, Malidin, Ambro and Pirlo are some of our most important players and it seems Carlo didn't give a damn about our opponent's low class and made sure everything will be okay. And when you think about it, Chievo never had a real chance of scoring. At least one mission is completed. Pirlo is our best counterattack player and I don't recall any counterattacks yesterday. We tend to keep the ball until the opponent gets nervous and decides to go forward more often. Not very brave, but I sure do appreciate the fact that Carlo has strenghten the defence and even with alternative defensive formation, we still do well. As for Toro - they're quite dangerous at home although the Top 4 always beats them. It should be another 1:0. We'll play the X-mas tree again, but this time, it will be Pato. Kaka should rest, but Ancelotti is not aware of that fact. If Pirlo is ready, Seedorf will be benched while Zambro and Paolo should be ready to get Abbiati another clean sheet. I'm more than optimistic. It will be easier than Chievo, trust me. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Pato doesn't play as often as last season, because he sux right now. There was some story about him being depressed because of Dunga's criticism. Ever since that story, he's been awful. Average 1vs1, terrible shot, no desire at all. He's just too young to meet the expectations. One day - maybe. Right now, I definetely agree with Carlo. I wouldn't rely on a player who gives the ball away in the most tense moments when we lead by one goal. Our worst attacker so far. And yes, I know he has more goals than Sheva and Borriello.
However, I can't agree with Sheva being a substitute forever. I think Pippo has more playing time than Sheva. This is ridiculous. What was the point of bringing him back? What's the point of Galliani's big mouth about our galaxy team since we play like a Serie B club? I wouldn't be at all surprised if Pippo is our only striker this Sunday. Much like the Bologna game.
Heated encounter? Well, I hope for something like 5:0 or even 6:0. It's about time for Milan-Show at San Siro. We have the players. Chievo is the second worst team in Serie A and seeing Reggina almost beating Udine for the Coppa Italia, I wonder whether they are actually better than those yellow clowns. 1:0 is almost like 0:0 with a smile. |

QUOTE (dst @ Nov 10 2008, 12:26 PM) It's so confusing why Carlo picks him to play... I mean... who would? The guy is crap these days... I don't like him either, but let's be honest. If it wasn't for Emerson and Gattuso, we would have never achieved all those "1:0/2:1" victories. Basically, Emerson is one of the main reasons we still have a good chance of winning it all. |

Wouldn't it be interesting if we play both Kaka and Ronaldinho AND two strikers? No Seedorf or even better - yes Seedorf + one defensive midfielder, probably Gattuso. There were times when Gattuso was our only midfielder with defensive duties only and we were like... the champions of Europe. Of course, we need Pirlo, but I don't think it's risky to play with 4 potential strikers, 2 of which play as attacking midfielders. Seedorf wasn't any better than Ricky last night. He was good in the first games, but not anymore. The only reason for Kaka not to play, is the break for national duties /friendly matches this time - so pointless!/. And our two strikers should be Sheva and Borriello. I have a good feeling that they might become something. Pato is just lacking the final touch as he's slowly getting used to Serie A football, while Pippo is more of a "golden sub". The fans deserve a convincing victory. Something like 4:0 or even 5:0, because Chievo are a disaster so far. Too bad we play in the afternoon. We always suck at San Siro when the sun shines. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I disagree about Carlo being a loser. We deserved to win the league in 2005 and 2006. Ah, well, they gave it to Inter anyway, but in both seasons, Milan played with imagination, scored a lot of goals and only luck tooks the first place away from us. Remember how we scored 85 goald in 38 matches? Not bad for a "defensive coach" with "loser mentality". The past two seasons, it was all about Champios League and I can't really blame Carlo for his failiure to fight for the Scudetto. Our selection was horrible. No forwards, no defenders, degrading Dida, no alternative for Pirlo. It was hard. |
