QUOTE (acid911 @ Apr 27 2011, 09:13 PM) *
Not really a conspiracy theory. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) And I am full aware that RM is the number one club in the world when it comes to the revenue. But they are a club most people love to hate, while even a casual football fans becomes a fan of Barca, even though he knows diddlysquat about them. Just like those basturds who became fans of Spurs against us, just because this was an EPL team - I am talking about commentators in China, Malta, every other nook and corner of the world. Crouchy? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Yeah right, you little turd of a creature! It's one thing being a fan, totally another being a biased clueless commentator/football analyst.

Getting back to the topic, yeah, I'd have picked on Real Madrid if they did this too. Any club actually. But tell me any other club who got their way so many times on European nights? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) The Milan disallowed goal in 2006 semi (it was as fair as the sun setting in the west), that Chelsea incident, and now a needless red (it wasn't even a yellow really, maybe so if the referee wanted to make a point, but still no point in that red). That Busquets hand-to-face was as disgraceful a foul as Rivaldo, and he walked away clean.

Only Arsenal did they beat fair and square, but then again, that was more of Arsène Wenger (and your number 10 who gave away the ball before the half) tactics and early in the tournament the last two times. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Every other time, Barca has been laughing all the way to the final, while fouling and burning everyone in their path. The refs are plain scared to punish them. Some people may call it part of the game, but I'd rather not.

For the record, I wasn't supporting Madrid, never was a fan. If I had my way, I'd rather see both clubs not get out of the group stages, can't stand Barca's tiki-taka and 400 paces in one half, neither the pathetic Galacticos of RM - at least the first one had class and talent. The v2 is just a bunch of stupid frogs patched together by Cristiano, a player who does not play (Kaka) and a coach who can't keep his mouth shut when he needs to. Otherwise, the only man worth his salt in this team is Casillas. Or on a good day, Sergio Ramos. And where's Xabi Alonso when you need him? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) The rest are okay players that only show up in smaller matches, but really to label them Galacticos II is not right. In fact, a bit of a disgrace to the earlier legends at the start of the century.

Actually acid, the Croucy thing was said by an English commentaor who is obviously biased towards the team from his own country. As for the nooks and cranies as you call them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Like Malta for example, the majority of people support either English or Italian team, I'd bet my @ss there are more members of a Lazio supporters club then there are members of a Barca supporters club (if there even is a Barca club here in malta (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) ) The only supporters Hoping for Spurs to win agaiinst us were the fans who support the English teams and maybe the Inter fans.

Also I think you're trying to point the finger at the refs when in reality this same story has happened in every Classico this season, there is a reason for it which does not involve your Save Barca theory involving UEFA. Real go out to bully Barca off the ball everytime they face them, and it usually ends up with a player getting sent off as a result of this. They never go out to play them, and imo that is the Real disgrace because with the squad Real have they should challenge Barca. Amd it wasn't even a yellow??? Had Alves's foot been on the ground with his studs gipping the turf he could have broken his leg. He went through him intentionally, he should have tried to pull out of it if his real intent was to actually get the ball

Oh, I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in detail and linked to the story. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Maybe I can dig the thread/post for you here at Milanfan (it was during the time you were taking a break from here). Anyway, the incident was from the recent Carlo's book, and was mentioned on the Guardian website. In short, SAF invited him after the match (or was that end of last season, after Chelsea won the league) to dinner, gave him a glass of wine, or something, said a few words and then skedaddled. Ancelotti then left the house all by himself when he saw what Alex was upto.

Carlo actually jokes about him in his book, but really that was one pathetic act. I wouldn't do it to an enemy, but for a world renowned coach to do this to another is beyond low. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) I think what I said above was the gist of it, you can maybe look it up in detail or buy his book - which I plan to, by the way, if not for his insight into Milan, the good cause to raise funds for Stefano Borgonovo Foundation (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, for which Baggio also attended the charity match).

And some people were saying that Flamini tackle against Spurs, didn't warrant one, I mean really.

We will have to see what the press (the majority) say tomorrow about the incident I guess.

Oh no it isn't.

Flamini is a Milan player, he doesn't count (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

But Flamini got the ball & the player's foot, IINM. different from this. if Flam had only tackled that player's foot, he would've seen red, no doubt.

Oh god. Not this s**t again. I just hate Barca more than Madrid, that's all. I'd say it wasn't a red-card if it happened against Milan ffs.

I never understood why people hate Utd so much... what have they done so wrong?

They bought a team together in the early 90s that cost far more than anyone elses. They just bought the league, it's the same as why people hate Chelsea or will/do hate City.

You're talking about the most successful club in Europe playing like a small club at home, no doubt.

I'm talking about pretty much everything that happened in the game.

Well I have got contact (friends and clients) in all the nook and cranies of the world. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) And really almost all said that their media/fanbase was supporting Suprs. to them if it's an EPL team against any other one, they'll just plain side with the English team. Maybe they are take the best league in the world literally. I mean, agreed it is number 1, but to support a weak Spurs side against the champion Milan (without knowing our and their history) is a bit too much for me. What did they do by going in the quarters, got their behind handed to them? And still some people had the audacity to say that Tottenham did not deserve to lose, they tried their best, blah, blah.

I guess my point is that we should call it in the middle, at least the commentators should.

But then there was clear malice involved in Flamini's challenge, don't you think? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) And I was/may be his fan and supporter here, and wanted him to play more matches ahead of other regular starters. But the reality is that the thing that should be taken into consideration is whether a player moves in with the intention of getting the ball or the leg.

Another bad decision IMO (yeah, let me say that again, IMO (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) was Ribery in last year's CL. They banned him and ruined the final, when he just went for the ball and accidentally touched the other player's ankle.

Ok, so the only way I can see this is perhaps, what I'm used to being allowed in the EPL (where I see this sort of thing happen most games) isn't allowed in European football.

That's the only way. There wasn't a stamping action, just a straight leg, in which Alves looked like he was going to whack the ball and Pepe clear it, but Alves decided to pull out and fall over. Perhaps this is the issue here.

*cough* RVP at the Nou Camp, nah this is getting silly now, even I think this is a bit petty. It's just the big clubs get the decisions and there are none bigger than Barca, happens all over the globe though.
