Can someone from the german crew (LaPalma and co) enlight me about
Berliner FC Dynamo (commonly Dynamo Berlin)?
I mean... they've 10 league titles (only behind Bayern), how can't they be in Bundesliga (I know they won in RDA but even with that...) ? As from Berlin... they're the main club from the capital (fan-base) like Real Madrid or Benfica? What happened to them?
I heard they were they linked with... Stasi? (IMG:

Enlight me, please.
Well, I didn't know much about Dynamo Berlin because I'm from West Germany, but I investigated a little bit and this is what I found out:
The name Dynamo in East Germany alwasy stood for a club being sponsored by the interior ministry and the police, and Dynamo Berlin in particular was called the "Stasi Klub" by the people in Eastern Germany. The "Minister für Staatssicherheit" (Stasi) Erich Mielke was a huge fan of them and also did them one or two favours (Transfers etc.).
About their fan base. As a "Stasi Klub" the Club was very unpopular among East german football fans. After 1989 and the fall of the Berlin Wall the mssing support of the SED (Socialist Party in former East Germany) the Club went down to the forth league, and all their good players went to Clubs in West Germany (Thomas Doll, Falko Götz, Andreas Thom).
Well, that's what happened to many Clubs from Eastern Germany after 1990. They simply weren't good enough for the Bundesliga...and still aren't. Dynamo Dresden (former club of the famous Matthias Sammer) which was also supported by the Stasi will play in the 2.Bundesliga next year after they spent years in the third league.
Besides Hertha BSC Berlin (Berlin is not the "real" eastern Germany) there are only two clubs from eastern Germany in the Bundesliga next year...
