The Champions League draw isn't that far away now. On the 25th of August, we'll know who we've got to face in the group stages. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

The question is, what would be your ideal group for Milan? To make it a bit easier, here are the 32 seeded teams that are expected to qualify for the group stages. To make up a group, a team from each 'pot' must be chosen.

Pot 1
Liverpool (TH)
Real Madrid
AC Milan
FC Barcelona
Manchester United
Internazionale
Bayern München
Arsenal

Pot 2
FC Porto
Juventus
PSV Eindhoven
Olympique Lyon
Panathinaikos
Chelsea
Villarreal
Sporting CP Lisbon

Pot 3
AS Monaco
Ajax
Club Brugge
Anderlecht
Olympiakos Piraeus
Schalke '04
Sparta Praha
Lille OSC

Pot 4
Glasgow Rangers
Werder Bremen
Lokomotiv Moscow
Benfica
Rosenborg BK
Fenerbahçe
FC Thun
FC Petrzalka

In my opinion, the best group we could get is...

AC Milan
Panathinaikos
Lille OSC
FC Petrzalka

Potenially, we could be drawn the following...

AC Milan
Chelsea
Monaco
Benfica

cheers mike ... where do you get this info from?? but now Panathinaikos is standing on a thin line bcoz they lost to Wisla Cockroach ... 3 - 1 .... Champions League is definitely the best football competition ... the first group is ok ... but the second one could be tough and competitive ...

Plz no Greek team (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You know , I prefer the Hardest group. Milan always plays better against Top teams.

I know Milan will win something this year (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

25th August the day I receive my GCSE results (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) !!!

About the draw I have a feeling we are going to have a difficult group again however we came through the group stages comfortably enough last year.

Well, I think the thing with the Champions League is that having a good team just gets you a seat at the table! There are a handful of teams who can beat anyone on their day, and I think luck plays a big part.

The main reason I'm hoping for an easy CL group is to ensure qualification early, so we can focus fully on the Scudetto. As we found last season, it's extremely hard to play catch up with a team like Juve who can grind out results against anyone (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I share your view, but how I wish we get Liverpoo (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) Not possible at this stage though.
