QUOTE (Danny @ Jun 27 2014, 10:59 AM) Oddly enough Capello's win percentage as a club coach was highest at Juve...where he won the square root of nothing. That wasn't really his fault. That Juve was a machine though

He won nothing because the titles got stripped away.
Man, I'd like Capello back with us here as a Director or at some higher post. He's not a good International manager, but he knows his job around Italy.

I'm late on the Suarez ban but I think it's more than fair. I don't get people asking for a lengthier punishment. After all, while it's a crazy thing to do it's harmless compared to some injury-causing hard tackles that see players banned for 4-5 games.

QUOTE (Forza Milan! @ Jun 27 2014, 10:17 PM) Really? This is the third time this guy bites someone in the field (not the first, not the second). Would a slap on the wrist be more appropriate? The length of this ban is roughly the same as the last one (in terms of games Suarez would miss in EPL), the difference is that it applies to both club and international. For a third offense, this is the least he should have gotten.
Chiellini is saying the right things under the circumstances (I would be doing the same if I was in his shoes). Others defending him are his team-mates (which is just a little self-serving) and Maradona (who is not really the right person to be lecturing on ethics). The man is banned from EVERYTHING. That's excessive. He can't enter a football stadium, can't play the sport other than a private kick about with his own friends, can't train with Liverpool...he's 100% banned from the football world. Meanwhile genuine career-ending tackles get off far less - a red card, and maybe a few matches banned. It was a crazy bite, nothing else. But his career is in jeopardy. Do you really think it's totally justified when dreadful tackles doing far worse damage? Totti was banned for 3 matches by Uefa for spitting, and I assure you spitting on someone is pretty much the worst thing you can do to anyone on the pitch. I just think it's OTT.

I think the ban is fine, it could and probably should have been worse considering this is the third time he's done this

He did it a year ago and got banned. Now he's done it again. His stupidity has no limits, I can't feel sorry for him. If his ban had no limits either, I still wouldn't. Spitting is disgusting, but harmless. Even the most sincere challenge can cripple someone. This is just something completely foreign to the game of football. Call me a hater, but if he does it again and is banned for life, it's deserved. Stupidity doesn't deserve sympathy.
Poor little Suarez will only have earned a few more million, sitting around on his *** and enjoying his summer, before he gets the privilege of playing football again.

I think you're overdoing this thing. Suarez is the person we love to hate publicly, but in fact, there are much worse footballers playing in Premier League or Serie A shirts, making dangerous tackles and destroying great players. Yet, no one cares, no one bans them for months or so.
