we're lucky it's Abbiati's day, we could've conceded twice if it wasn't for him.. and the linesman as well

Robinho may want to learn finishing from Flamini. granted the goal was offside, but his finishing was better than Robinho's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Robinho's finishing was clinical at City, admittedly only at home. I don't know why his shooting is so poor now.

The linesman? He was pinpoint in both occasions. First of all, Abbiati's save was at the line. SkyCalcio had a special camera from above which made it abundantly clear the ball did not pass all the line. Secondly, yes, Pato was faintly offside, but in the doubt FIFA says the flag shouldn't be raised. Thus, the linesman made the right decision.

Pato's center of gravity was onside, which I thought was the rule?

Could you find a video/image of this special shot you're talking about?

I don't understand, it's ridiculous to rule out something like that as offside. it was a matter of a few centimeters and even for that we needed to watch the reply a couple of times to decide. the offside rule should be used to prevent unfair advantages like when an attacker is a few steps ahead of his opponent. Pato had no advantage over Cambiasso whatsoever.

After watching that it was clear that Maicon moved his inside hand(his right) to stop Clarence's shot and so should have been a penalty. I also saw a clip earlier and it showed Flamini in line with their defence so he wasn't offside, have a look:

It still looks ball to hand, I don't think he moved his hand to block it but when your hand is out that far and comes in contact with the ball you definitely risk giving one away, and I have seen them given before. Did Maicon intentionally move his hand to block it, I don't think so, if he did we should sign him as a back-up GK, did you see how quick that shot was travelling?!

I don't know, if you ask me it was a clear handball penalty. Intention or not, we cannot read Maicons mind, but the hand delfected the ball and was not in a natural position. I've seen penalties give for a less obvious handball.

Sure it was ball to hand but the hand was in a very unnatural position, therefore penalty.
