Berlusconi eyes Buffon and Ronaldinho
Outspoken Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has claimed the club will try to buy Gianluigi Buffon and Ronaldinho in the summer.
When asked whether the signing of Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Buffon or Barcelona's Brazil star Ronaldinho, the former Italy premier replied "why would I have to choose?"
"This is a really different Milan to the team that was there at the beginning of the season, thanks to the arrivals of (Massimo) Oddo and Ronaldo," he continued. "We eventually overcame the shortfall in the summer transfer window, which came about from having to pre-qualify for the Champions League.
"We already had Gianluca Zambrotta and Zlatan Ibrahimovic lined up but we had to let them go."
The Rossoneri's chief executive, Adriano Galliani, also admitted that the summer transfer market will be crucial for the club as they attempt to strengthen the squad further. However, he refused to be drawn on the names of potential signings:
"Ronaldinho? Buffon? I do not like to talk about players and bother other sides," Galliani said. "Barcelona and Juventus know that Milan are interested in these two winners."
He also played down rumours that Milan are lining up a bid for Celtic's Poland keeper Artur Boruc, who impressed in the 1-0 aggregate win for Milan in the Champions League last 16:
"He's a good keeper but for the moment we have not opened negotiations with Celtic," he continued, before admitting that talks with current shot-stopper Dida are at an impasse.
"There is still a financial disparity between what (Dida) wants and what we will offer, but he's a great keeper so there's not problem waiting for him," Galliani said, and before adding that coach Carlo Ancelotti "will 100% be Milan coach next season."
