Meanwhile, former Milan star Manuel Rui Costa has announced his retirement at the end of this season.

The 35-year-old spent seven terms at Fiorentina and five with the Rossoneri before returning to his hometown club.

“I had always desired to end my career at Benfica and I am proud to have achieved that,” he told local newspaper ‘Record.’

“I am happy with what I have done in my career and proved I am a real professional.”

Thank u so much Rui...so you looking for a job?

I do hope we can get him to work with Milan in some capacity. But I'm sure he'll end up doing something for Benfica.

Aww, you lucky man, Diavoli! The best number 10 ever, ever. Pure class, this Rui guy. Good luck Pride of Portugal. May your off-field life be smooth as you were on the field. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

I think Rui could become a coach. He always seemed to knew what should be done to fix things on the field of play...

Thanks for the memories, Rui. Particularly his long-range bombas. Not many who've seen it, can forget his goal against England in Euro 2004! Ha, kurt? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

He most certainly has the name and potential for that. Since Camacho only recently stepped down, that could be done,..

It was one hell of a goal, I thought it finished us off. But we have Lampard, so there was always a hope, and he delivered!

I think he could definitly become a coach, he has the right mentality for it and seems a very intelligent guy.

Yeah, it was quite a memorable match, for the neutrals at least. And I agree on the part of him becoming a coach. Rui could do very well here, what with his footballing knowledge and calm personality. Pure class, this guy. Add to that the fact that he's absolutely idolized at Benfica. I saw a game last year in Lisbon when he came on as a sub at the second half - he got a standing ovation just for coming in. (Benfica won the game 4-1). He's already said he wants to work in the management somehow at Benfica after he retires. Might not be a bad idea at all for him to be coach.
