Who do you guys think was more important for Milan? Who was the better purchase and who was more influential on the team. Who was the better player and who was the greater success?

He was always fantastic for us. Even when he wasn't scoring many, he still played well. He made the people around him look better than they were. He spent his best years here, while Kaka' will be spending his prime in Madrid. He is one of the best players ever in my opinion, he really was that good. We really fell apart when he left. both amazing players both won a champions league for milan its so tough to choose. i think kaka might have the edge ovver sheva because he single handedly won cl in 07 for us. its amazing that with kaka and sheva in attack we were unstoppable but we never won a cl with them together

I think Sheva overall played better. Then again, Sheva never won us a CL.

I can't tell... Sheva was probably the better player in what he was supposed to do... but Kaka was IMO more influential to the team's play.

@ Kurt

Totally disagree with you. I'm not saying Kaka won't have some great years with Real but I think he spent a good deal of his prime years at Milan. he was unstoppable around 2007. I'm not sure he will be able to repeat those kind of performances at Madrid.

I agree, I doubt he'll play better than he did at Milan.

perhaps not at club level, but i think we've yet to see the best of kaka on the international stage. he's in the spotlight for the selecao, not in the shadows of r9 and r10.

Sheva for me. Even though stat-wise they're both the same, I think it's a personal thing.

I find that I have more 'Sheva stories' than 'Kaka stories' to tell my kids. Perhaps Kaka left a bit too early, while when Sheva left he was the biggest personality in Milan after Maldini.

For me losing Kaka was like losing a lynchpin of the squad, losing Sheva was like losing a piece of me. Grew up with this man, shares the laughs and cries...the joy of the 2003 penalty shootout.

Somehow...Sheva also carried more emotional attachement. Kaka was just too non-fuss and business-like. When Sheva left there was turmoil just like when he came, while Kaka left just like he came, in the nicest most friendly way possible. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Sheva was also purchased for 25 million. There's the odd joy when you splash out money to buy someone who is hyped to be the best in the world and he proves to be it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) He was our answer to Real Madrid's original Ronaldo who at that time unlike CR was inarguably the best, and boy did he deliver.

However objectively I think both players are important. Stats wise they're similar too. I think the hallmark of any player's legend in a club is how sorely they're missed when they're gone. And I think both Sheva and Kaka prove they are heroes that way.

It's also probably why the legend of Rui Costa will never endure in Milan, coz we just never missed him when he retired. (By God..we do now!!)

i think robinho is doing better than kaka for the selecao ... but what im not understanding is why kaka is doing gd next to cr9 and robinho ... and when he was next to ronaldinho he went to the media and said ronaldinho is not making me play my best (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) ? ???
