QUOTE (acid911 @ Sep 1 2008, 04:06 AM) I think you'll find that it will take more than a couple of matches, my friend. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I don't foresee him being back to his best for at least the next quarter. Meaning December, January. If he gets back. It'll be not fair expecting him doing his magic from the first few matches. Not after what he's been through at Chelsea. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Certainly not. I didn't mean back to his best, he'll never be. I meant give a him a couple of chances, if he still fails then bench him.

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Aug 31 2008, 08:02 PM) are you sure you still want to say that. Let go of the memories and really look at him for who he is today. This time there was no 40 yard shots, he missed several chances and a crucial one to win the game. His passing was awful and he constantly was fouling thinking this is england. Sad really, i have nothing more to say about him than he is a bench player and cover for boriello and inzaghi. Wow, talk about jumping to conclusions. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I don't go back on what I say, So yes I still want to say that. Sheva played for 45 minuted after 6 months out, what the hell did you expect a 1 man winning machine? He has to not only get back to fitness but re integrate into the squad. You want to criticise Sheva's miss, which wasn't bad because it was a great save, but choose to overlook the fact that Pippo missed about 10 chances today all were as 'easy' as Sheva's His passing and movement were good. Hius sharpness and fitness were lacking but that comes back in time after getting games under you belt. Even R10 looked a bit off his pace sometimes and he's been playing competitive matches recently I will only reserve my judgments on whther Sheva is as you say 'finished' or not for May, until then I will watch what he can do. QUOTE (amancik @ Aug 31 2008, 08:14 PM) I'd say give him a couple of matches to get back to shape. He just needs his confidence back. Exactly. Man, talk about jumping the gun just to prove that your theory is right (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) QUOTE (acid911 @ Aug 31 2008, 09:06 PM) I think you'll find that it will take more than a couple of matches, my friend. I personally don't think that's he'll ever get back to the Sheva of old, but I do believe that he will be a major asset for us for the Scudetto race, and that he will score 10+ goals this season Yes he will need time to regain sharpness, fitness and confidence but that's why I want Carlo to ease him into things. He's still getting back on his feet and needs to get into the league's rythem again. Talking about whether he's still good or not after 45 minutes coming off 6 months out is a bit ridiculous imo

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It's our regular guys that worry me, Kaladze, Seedorf, and friends. And Carlo, most of all. He's the team coach and when it comes to tactics and player combos, he knows jack schitt. Personally. Now, just as a disclaimer. I don't hate the Bologna president who was boasting off before the match that they'd destroy us. At least the guy had guts to get the job done. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) His team did yeah. And we were robbed of 3 points. Oh, Fishdoll, Where Art Thou?

But the way he came out boasting how he was in the right after just 45minutes from Sheva is a bit ridiculous to me. As for Kaladze, it's the same sh!t as always. If Carlo still plays him when all of Nesta, Senderos and Bonera are fit I will tear my hair out. Ridiculous, this piece of sh!t wouldn't even get in Empoli's first team, and still somehow he plays every game for Milan after making one mistake after the other. Seedorf, I can't believe how he played, he knows his position is in serious jeopardy once Kaka is back, why play like sh!t in a game where you've been given the start? I've always believed that he's better playing in the midfield 3, hopefully we'll see more of that this season and less of what we saw today. Carlo's biggest problem is his stubborn streak not his tactical know how imo

QUOTE (han2503 @ Sep 1 2008, 01:45 AM) Carlo's biggest problem is his stubborn streak not his tactical know how imo Yes, that's another way to put it. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) But I got an idea of the man's tactics in Istanbul 2005. And many other times when coaches of smaller stature and experience blew past and outclassed him, both in Serie A and the Champions League. It's like he can sometimes handle big teams tactically well, but against random and small teams he becomes clueless. Doesn't necessarily makes him a bad coach, yes. But like you said, his stubbornness, more often than not, does. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Agree with everything else, particularly the Kaladze Calamity and Seedorf bits. Sometimes I think either Seedorf is too stupid, or too sure of things, like he'll never lose his place. Same goes for Kala, I guess. Good thing, Brocchi is out, or we'd have seen him substituted in today too. Our number 10 only made on run in the whole match, while Ronaldinho was running circles around the opposition defenders. That tells a lot about how things are in Milano at the moment. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) More reasons why we need Kaka back and take the Dutch's place.

QUOTE (misha @ Sep 1 2008, 07:25 AM) Seedorf and Kaladze were awful. Tell us something new. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Other than that, true post. For some weird reasons people seem awful depressed and pissed off with things. Everyone criticizing the players, etc. Which is understandable, because technically this was our easiest fixture. We messed up three easy points, plain and simple. Just wait and see when teams like Fiorentina, Roma, Juventus, and the merda play against Bologna at home. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

45 minutes and written off, fickle game.
Ronaldinho was entertaining and did play well, but for the last 20 minutes he was no where to be seen. Man-marked for that period and he was out of the game. Don't see too many people talking about that on here!
I think you guys either remember Sheva as some superman and you expect that again or you're just being harsh. Even when Sheva was in his peak he didn't have a massive impact in the game, like on the ball 24/7 etc, he'd just take his chances when given. He isn't as impressive as say a C.Ronaldo or a Ronaldinho in his peak but he was a damn good striker.
Often being quiet for most of the game then bang a moment of genious and the game was won. But don't expect him to be running rings around players, doing fancy tricks etc because he very rarely ever did.

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Well, it's only a first game, but that loss was a little harsh to swallow. The start of new season, all the new players and a pretty easy opponent (so we thought (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ). But i'm sure it will be fine after some time: Kaka and especially Nesta will come back, new players will integrate better into the team, some of them still not regained full fitness, and I don't think Carlo is sure about which formation to play. The talent is there, we only saw a small portion of it yesterday.

Agreed. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Yes, talent. That's what provides us with hope. Had we not signed key players and strengthened our squad, it would have been a continuation of last year for us fans. Having said that, there are still a lot of issues to be sorted out. Immense players they are, Kaka and Nesta still don't make 10% of Milan. Combined. We have to lessen our dependability on them, as they are already overburdened and injured. What they bring to the table is out of this world - Kaka with his attacks, and Nesta with his stops - but a big club such as Milan shouldn't be dependent on one, two, or even three players. The others should step up. Or step out. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) We aren't Fiorentina (dependent on Mutu), and the likes. In closing, like you said, yes, a very tough defeat to swallow. Particularly keeping in mind the fact that this was our first game, home game, the players were fresh, the coach enjoyed his vacation, the fans were buoyed, and technically this was our easiest opponent to face. Plus, we had an excellent chance to take the lead, with say a 3-0 win. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Ah well. Shtick happens. I wasn't expecting a loss. No way near anything a loss. In fact, no one was.

Some very harsh criticism on a guy who only played 45 minutes after a long lay off. The obvious talking point is the one very good chance he had in which the keeper IMO made an excellent save. For that sort of ball you 'should' slot it low into the far bottom corner rather than back across the keeper, so I thought he did everything right. Besides that he also drifted deep to get the ball and got into some good positions to receive it. Had his match fitness and sharpness been there, he would have got on the scoresheet. BTW for the record a couple of those fouls were pretty soft, especially the push in the box in which the ball fell to Dinho. Favourite Sheva moment.. I'll throw this one out there.. The goal he scored against Real at the San Siro in the 2002/03 CL. Its one that just sticks in my mind when thinking of favourite Sheva goals. The commentary for the goal was perfect as well.
