Bringing this over from the transfer thread

Coach Massimiliano Allegri has called up 23 players for the Trofeo TIM tomorrow against Juventus and Sassuolo.

Goalkeepers: Abbiati, Amelia, Gabriel.

Defenders: Antonini, Bonera, Constant, Mexes, Zaccardo, Zapata.

Midfielders: Kevin-Prince Boateng, Cristante, Emanuelson, De Jong, Nocerino, Poli, Piccinocchi, Strasser, Traoré.

Strikers: Niang, Oduamadi, Petagna, Kingsley Boateng, Robinho.

The match schedule:
20:45: Juventus-Milan.
21:45: Loser of the first match-Sassuolo.
22:45: Winner of the first match-Sassuolo.

Somebody should open a Trofeo TIM thread in 'Matches' section.

I'd really like Allegri to line-up with something similar to what we might see come the start of the season. There is no time for experimenting this season considering the qualifiers

Agreed, but Niang instead of Petagna. I want to see how he does in this pre-season.

Rumours are that he could be going on loan this summer

Personally, the fact that Allegri still sees Urby as a trequartista first and foremost still scares the cr@p our of me as this is a precedent of what's to come under him as coach for another season.

Well, to his defense, we don't have anyone else who can play there right now. After we sign Honda and Saponara recovers, I don't think Urby will play there. Actually, I would say Urby might be shipped out before the season starts.

Yeah, but another coach would either just leave Boateng there or play Robinho there or even Poli, but only Allegri could come up with the brilliant idea to play the wingback/winger in the trequartista position.

Let's not forget that we had to put up with this for nearly half a season in 11/12

To allegri's defence, where else can you play him. Allegri values mids who can hold their ground and win the ball. Eman can't do any of that and frankly is playing in the wrong league...Can you imagine how porous we'd be with him at LB/LM?

At least play him at LCM NOT where you're crucial to ruining every attack

Traore, is SO horrible.

Even something as simple as a 1 meter forward pass is bad
