Um. You realize that Seedorf isn't usually fielded as a box to box mid, right?
Um. yes. not anymore. cuz he's incapable of doing that job. hence the whistles whenever the crowd perceives him to be walking/having a shite work rate.
You do realize tho that the best that we have ever been this decade was when Pirlo played in lying play-making role. Rino was his body guard. And seedorf went box-to-box: holding his own, making challenges, launching counter attacks, and finishing the occasional move with a thunder strike.
NOW he isn't fielded there anymore, cuz he isn't capable of doing what he used to. So he relies heavily on his positioning, body strength, and passing accuracy to become more of a play maker than the dogged central midfield tank that he used to be.
KP Boateng has damn decent technique, a high work rate, good pass, and a good shot. He would represent the kind of player we had when clarence was about 6 years younger. anyone who watched ghana saw in him a player that plays with passion, physicality, and high workrate. Those qualities combined with an above average technical abilities makes for a great combination.
With him in the line up, we wouldn't need 2 strict DMs, but still be able to keep Pirlo in the lineup while maintaining balance. It'd be Pirlo, (bodyguard: Ambro/Flam), Boateng. Dinho and Pato to give them outlets. And seedorf would be an impact substitute, a la Ryan Giggs.
In the Panathanaikos thread i think there was some general agreement reached that Milan lacked depth. Just because Seedorf and KP Boateng no longer play the same position means its abnormal for a supporter of our team to want a player like him?
