Albertazzi and Zigoni have been called up to the U19s for their next round of qualifying games, to be played May 21-26 in Russia. (For those doing the math, this means that these two will not be part of the US/Canada summer tour).

The Primavera play Catania tomorrow in Sicily in the first leg of their round-of-16 playoffs for the Primavera scudetto. The game will be played on astroturf.

Here's the call up list:
Donnarumma, Perucchini;
De Sciglio, De Vito, Ghiringhelli, Motta, Romagnoli, Pirovano;
Hottor, Merkel, Novinic, Pedrocchi, Scampini, Strasser;
Gaeta, Oduamadi, Schenetti, Verdi, Zigoni.

Albertazzi not on the list. Unsure as to whether he's injured or if he's playing with the grownups.

Also on Saturday, the berretti (next group down in age) play the baby gobbi in the second leg of the berretti scudetto semi (Milan won the first leg 2-1).

Not directly relevant to the Primavera, but is the Yepes signing official? If so it is a huge slap in the face to Albertazzi. What more must these Primavera players do to get a chance with the seniors? I am still fuming that the useless Mancini is played ahead of the infinitely more promising Verdi

Im not gonna rant against the management because quite frankly there is nothing more i can say. Their leadership is erratic at the best of times. I hope they can sort their act out asap

Dude, Yepes is a gazillion times better than Albertazzi.

So, there were several teams in scudetto playoffs for their age groups. Here's how everyone did (from acmilan.com):

PRIMAVERA
Quarterfinals, first leg
Catania – Milan 1-0
Milan lose the first leg of the quarters against Catania, with Nicastro scoring for Catania in the 81st minute. Milan should be able to turn over the defeat in the second leg (which will be played Thursday. the first leg was played on synthetic turf).

BERRETTI
Semifinals, second leg
Juventus-Milan 1-1 - Goal rossonera: Palibrk (61’)
The Berretti, holders of the scudetto for their age group, reach their second final in a row, where they will face Atalanta. They won the first leg semifinal 2-1. The final games (home and away) will be played the 15th and 22nd of May.

ALLIEVI NAZIONALI
Round of 16, first leg
Sampdoria-Milan 0-1 (De Respinis)
The Allievi Nazionali won the first leg against Sampdoria due to a goal from De Respinis. The game was played on a pitch in bad condition (barely playable). The second leg will be played next Sunday.

GIOVANISSIMI NAZIONALI
Round of 16, first leg
Bologna-Milan 1-3 - Rossoneri goals: Petagna (37' 57), Cristante (80')
The Giovanissimi Nazionali scored 3 on Bologna in the first leg. Petagna's goals were both headers; Cristante's goal was a penalty. The second leg will be played next Sunday.

Here's a signing we made in the primavera that was not announced:

Info:
Name: Simone Calvano
Born: 1993 (16, soon 17)
Club: AC Milan
Position: Midfielder

His Career
So, Calvano started his career by playing for Atalanta. Atalanta is regarded also as having building up the best youth players in Italy. Calvano impressed on many with his box-to-box play, his good shot and his vision. He was a part of the Italian U-17 team that participated in the U-17 youth championship in Nigeria. He was even selected as one of the seven with most potential of the '93 group by the Italian media. Calvano caught the eye of many big teams around Italy and eventually joined Milan in January '10.

He joined Milan alongside two other players in January - Benedict Didic and Houwei Ka Bamba.
Calvano had to wait for a while with his debut for Milan and finally made his debut in the Viareggio Tournament for about 2 months ago. He didn't get so many minutes there, but still impressed while he was getting
the minutes.
He is currently the youngest player in the Primavera Team (3 years younger than everybody else) and is slowly getting more and more playing time. He is currently fighting for a starting place with Strasser, who is one of the more ''experienced'' in this team and is also getting call-ups to the A-team.

edit:

As regarding the sources, you can find him on the list on this site. As the rest of the information goes, I have a good friend in Milan who I recieved the minor details from him.

Wikipedia isn't a trustworthy source and the wikipedia site you linked doesn't include any information on Calvano but his name. How does this friend in Milan know this stuff? Where's his information from?

Which italian media group selected him as having potential?

He's regarded as having having good build up play by whom?

Also, Strasser is more of a defensive mid. This kid from what you describe is more of a creative mid - so why would they be interchangable?

this sounds like a stupid question, but is strasser a highly ranked prospect or just some import that done well with the prima?

Its a forum, not an interview. You asked me to prove he exists, I did. Also that Wiki page is 100% correct; you can search the stuff up yourself if you don't believe me.

Also on the other info; like i said I have summarized what I have heard. If you don't like it, don't read it. I thought other members would be interested in some insight on who this guy is instead of just posting his name.

Also why do you post with two different accounts on the same page...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

At this point, I wouldn't put him with highly ranked prospect tag. He's miles behind zigoni, verdi, berreta, albertazzi. He's 19 too.

Actually, what I asked was for you to provide sources for your story. Which you didn't.

And just so you're clear, the guidelines on posting news items state the following:

QUOTE
Any and all news items must have your source mentioned in it.

Yours did not. A wikipedia entry mentioning the player's name does not give any of the other detailed information you mentioned in your story (recommendation by italian media, position played, u17 call ups, appearances at viareggio, fighting strasser for spot).

If you can provide sources for the following, please do so. If not, the post will be removed per board guidelines.

But how can it be sourced when its my writing??? I understand what your saying, but its not possible. The only thing I can source would be the transfer of him and that article is long gone. I can't find it anywhere...

thats why I sourced wiki

It's actually very nicely written, Blue.

The problem is when you bring up stuff like the Italian media rating him (which media? where? when? If they did, then there's an article somewhere.), his call ups (that's easily sourced if you look), his playing at Viareggio (really? which games? who'd he come in for? one of the few series of games of the primavera where news IS available), his fighting Strasser for a starting spot (really? according to who? do they even play the same position?). All this stuff is great, but there's no source listed for any of it so there's no real way to evaluate any of it.

EDIT: And the wiki link lists his name only. None of this other stuff. Also, wiki is wholly unreliable - anyone can go in and edit stuff, and people frequently do.
