After 2 league game it's way too early for conclusions. He needs to get used playing with Oliveira and it will take a little time ,like last season when he has found his game (in Seria A) after some time. As I said before he still hasn't adjusted to playing without Sh***.
*

Well mishale, he hasnt adjusted with Sheva or without Sheva .. It just isn't happening for him, I hope he does make our day (everytime Milan play) .. I dont mean to give a conclution about my idea of the player .. At a club like Milan, if u cant do ur job, the bench is ur only destination .. But Carlo keeps fielding him, I'm sure he has a reason for that, plus Maldini backs him 100%, and I cant go against Maldini's word .. But, it's just that I expect all our starting XI players bring on a majestic performance, each with there own talent

I think that in the league last year he was playing well and benefited from Sheva movement a lot. This year it's complitely different story and he and Oliveira need to learn how to play together.
We all know he can't play with Inzaghi and that what heart him a little bit in the first few games. I'm sure that he will score a lot for us in the Seria A this year. Until now he only played 100 Seria A minutes (60 against Lazio and 40 against Parma).
Carlo won't hesitate to bench him in important games later on but for now it's good for him to play against smaller teams in order to gain his fitness back.

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Sep 17 2006, 09:43 PM)
han .. Please, stop defending Gila .. Face the facts bro, he's crap !!! I hate to say this about our players, it hurts so much cause he is supposedly 'the future of Milan' .. He just isn't that player from Parma.

Toni !!!! Are you serious, yes the WC he was a dissapointment, but he opened the season with two goals .. And what's wrong w/ 30? at Milan that is a below average age  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I guess I'm just tiered of praising players that don't compete for their place in the starting eleven. I used to defend him last season so much, that I was getting bashed at about how much we paid for him, and he's not worth the money blah blah blah ...

But seriously, at Milan you need a player that is totally commited to his work, i.e. Gilardino = Milan striker = goal scorer  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)   But where are the goals ?! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)   Ok forget about the goals, what about A goal ?!
*

I don't understand you man! Gila is more of a team player then anyone on that team, he plays for MILAN, not for himself. And Gila is crap??? He has one of the best scoring recprds in serie A from these past few seasons. So what he missed a good chance against Parma, kaka did the same thing when he came on, let's not pick who to criticise.

And you know why I keep defending Gila? Because he is a LOYAL TEAM player, that had already stated over and over again that if Milan where to get demoted he would stay, only he and Rino said that, not Kaka, not Pirlo, not Kaladze, only him and Rino, and secondly as I stated above, he is an unselfish striker that plays for the team, and if he sees that he is in a difficuilt position to score he would rather pass the ball to a team mate that is in a better position rather then go for glory.

And so what he isn't in such good form, every striker goes through that kind of period, and I don't even blame him for not scoring when playing next to Pippo, because I know he can't do well next to him, especially when trying to play as a supposed 'supporting striker' something he isn't.

And still I think that he is very unlucky, the guy got his start next to Oliveira and was playing good and was involved a lot, and what happens? He smashes his head!!

Yeah Im very touched by his injury, and above all how he got injured (for trying to score..!!!) ..

The odds were against him, when he played w/ Inzaghi; it's common knowledge by now on this forum, at least. But that wasn't a fact, it was an excuse !

A lot rests on his shoulders, ever since he came here it seemed as if he's too shy to bring out the real Giladrino that we all knew in Parma, let alone last season. When you say he's loyal, I believe he could be, but don't blame me if I choose not to comment on that, cuz I'v heard it b4 (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

In all honesty I do understand you .. But what you might not understand from me is that I am not a psycologist, I am a Milanista .. And for that reason I choose not to make excuses. I expect from each player to do his job; Nesta a wall of a defender, Gattuso a bulldog in MDfield, Kaka 'no comment', Gilardino our goal scoring machine. But if Gilardino cant confirm at the end of every season 20 plus goals, then really he isn't that striker that we can depend on, he isn't the GILA that is all hyped up to be. I said Toni, not cause I like him, but because he confirms 20 Plus goals a season. It really makes no difference if he helps out other team mates, cuz that isn't part of his job. Look at Inzaghi, he poachs them in as if it's the last game he'll ever play in his life .. He supports no one when the ball is in his distance, he just does his job. And that is how Gilardino should play, cuz we have not one, but three playmakers on the field everytime we play .. All Gila has to do is turn from his marker and shoot.

Don't you guys think Gila has lost in agility and gained in strength since he has come to Milan? I don't know, I remember the Parma-Gilardino being very agile and if someone touched him, he would fall over. But the Milan-Gilardino is different. He's less agile than before and stronger physically. Maybe Milan-Lab has worked negatively on him?

That's a great point! I have also noticed that! He was never a very fast player, but I believe he has lost his pace. I also think he has an extremely weak shot... Even weaker than Inzaghi's. But non of this matters if he starts scoring again...

And I understand what you are saying too. I was a bit disappointed by him last season, but in all honesty I knew he was going to struggle a bit. And this season has barely just begun so we can't comment on. Plus it does matter wether or not he is playing next to Pippo or Oliveira, just look at the difference between the Lazio game and the Parma game, in the game against Lazio he was anounimous, we might as well hadd been playing with 9 players, then look at the Parma game, he was getting involved a lot and almost scored, and I think he should have scored that one yes, but it was a good save from the keeper and I think he hesitated and chose the wrong option.

And let's not compare Toni to Gila, it is a totally different situation, Gila moved from Parma to Milan, a big step up, Toni moved from Palermo to Fiorentina, there's a big difference.

Anyway, before we criticise him on THIS season we should WAIT and SEE what he actually does. Because I believe he has it in him to overcome this

Ok .. Agreed, I'll give him a couple of months to prove me wrong, till mid-season .. If by then he hasn't got back to form then .. We'll go at it again (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

What the f@ck are you guys talking about???
Gilardino is sacrificing his whole game so that Inzaghi can score!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why are you just looking at the numbers!!??? Football is a whole f@cking philosophy and science it's not 22 players running around on a field trying to put a round thing on the net!!! For God's sake ... look at what the lad does in every single game on that stupid grass so that the others can play their game??? And then he has to hear all this??? Why?? Notice his game don't just stare at that monitor of yours!!!!
Why do you think Milan are extending his bloody contract till 2011?? Can't they see he's 'crap' and that he's 'playing bad'??? What are we, a bunch of Messiahs that are here to show them how it's done??? We all know that Milan can't afford raising players up for 'future success' ... So why the f@ck did they pick Gila instead of Toni huh??? WHY??? they are so stupid, right??? Why since Toni is the 30 goal kinda guy!!??? they did not scout on him at all, they just watched him when Milan played against Parma and then at the end of the season they probably read on Football Italia that he had scored 24 goals and then said "Oh let's get him, who cares?"!!!!!

Oh come on ....................................
