Don't we all have them? Even if they're not the best or aren't winning everything they're the best. Just wanted to know who your favorite player is? to start this thing I'll say mine:(in no particular order)
Jürgen Klinsmann: Because of his awesome style to play football, and he never gave up on a match. And the first football memory I have is the quarterfinal of the WC 1990 (I was just 5 back then..) when Klinsmann destroyed the Dutch team almost on his own after Rudi Voeller was sent of the field ( because of Rijkaards spit attack...he's a real lama...). And I remember him playing for Tottenham, he was great then, and he invented the "Kilnsmann"....
Roberto Baggio: He surely was the best striker in the 90ies, especially in the WC 1994, when he alone shot Italy in the final against Brazil. It was one of the worst moments in football I remember when he didn't score that penalty.... It's a pity he didn't make it in Milan...
Rui Costa: The player that took me to Milan. I've always been a fan of Portugals Golden Generation, and he was the best of them. In his years with Fiorentina he was one of the best number 10s in the world (probably the best after Zidane). It's too bad his great time was over when he transfered to Milan. I mean he had great games in Milan, but Rui Costa was at his best when he played for the Fiorentina.
Zinedine Zidane: I know I was pretty upset when he did that header, but he's just human too I guess. From my point of view he was the best player in world football since Maradonna. And he had what every great playeer needs, an absolutely unique style. He like no one else, controlled the ball. Merci Zizou!
Paolo Maldini: Do I have to say anything? Probably the best defender of all times. he's definetely the best left defender of all times, and no defender had such an amazing technique. And in all his almost 600 Serie A games for Milan he got almost no red card. Plus, it's just amazing to see how good he still is after over 20 years of professional football!
Dariusz Wosz: Maybe he's barely known outiside of Germany, but he's one the best "10"s Germany had in the 90ies. When his club Bochum reached the Uefa Cup in 1997 his performance was outstanding. I'll never forget Bochums games against Ajax in the Uefa Cup...

I'm a bit young (16) so I don't have any old favourite players. Anyway:
Andriy Shevchenko: Sheva was my all time favourite player before he left Milan. I had an outstanding sympathy for him, since his first year at Milan. I've seen him grow year by year and scoring fabolous goals giving us the Champions League, Italian Supercup, European Supercup and especially the scudetto. I bought the official 2005/2006 Milan shirt with his name on just 2-3 months before he left, but I will still keep it as a memory. His reasons of leaving Milan have made me lost some of the respect I had about him before, but still, I don't hate him. He will always be one of my favourites.
Kakà : My favourite player on nowdays. Even if I hadn't seen him play before, I was very happy when I heard his arrival at Milan. I had a special feeling that he would explode here and he really did, showing class and techqinue. His goals against Deportivo and Bruge will always be my favourites.
Oliver Bierhoff: Oliver was the one who got me into Milan, back in 1998. I wasn't a big fan of football then, since I was only 9 years old. He was one of my friends' favourite player. It's especially about him that I now am a Milan and Germany fan. He wasn't such a brillant footballer, I know, but I really liked him. And it was his goals that gave us the 1999 scudetto. And don't forgive his famous golden goal in 1996.
Michael Ballack: My sympathy for Michael began back in 2002, when he was playing for Leverkusen. I didn't know him then, but I rememebr quite a few amazing goals of that season which saw Leverkusen go to the final. But it was the 2002 World Cup that made him one of my favourites german players. He was quite outstanding, giving great assists and scoring decisive goals for Germany. It nearly broke my heart when he got that yellow card against Korea. If Germany had him in the final, Brazil wouldn't have had a chance.

well apparently Milan is my favorite team for a reason: Gullit, Boban, Marco Van Basten, Rijkard, Savićević, Baresi, Maldini, .... If you want a more specific selection then it'd be Maldini and Gullit!!!! Along with them is the amazing Dennis Bergkamp!!!! All of the above I can't describe with words .... (IMG: http://www.coolsmileys.net/affection/throb.gif) More recent favourite players are Alessandro Nesta and Ricardo Kaka: The former is simply the best CB in the world and oh my how much I lobe CBs.He can easily steal the ball from anyone, he's impenetrable!!!And Ricky ... well Ricky ... he's simply poetic, a dancer on thin ice ........... Pirlo is also one of the greatest and Messi will surely become one!!!!!! ... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

My current top favorites are the young players of this generation. They give me a reason to get excited about football and make they make this sport much more exciting to watch. Nothing is more boring than watching two teams play with a bunch of old players. Young players add that extra flare to the game which IMO, is vital for any team. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Cesc Fabregas: What is this player? Someone explain to me... He is only 18 and his passes remind me of those of Rui Costa's... His performances in the CL last season were amazing. Especially the ones against Real. He was simply 'Fab'ulous! I can't even imagine what kind of player he will be in 4-5 years... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Fernando Torres:Did someone say he is not profilic? Wow... I mean 68 goals in 138 games for a 22 year old who plays for Atletico is more than profilic IMO. It's almost the same as Sheva's 60 goals in 118 games at Dynamo before he joined Milan... Anyways, this kid has got it all. He can almost score from anywhere and has a speed of a cheetah... He is tall and strong with great technique and he is only 22. Oh and did I mention he is very very unique? That's always a sign of a star in the making. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Gattuso: This guy may not be the most technical player, but what he brings to the pitch is more important than anything else. It's the fighting spirit! It's the winning spirit! It's the Gattuso trademark. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Plus I believe he is only getting better and better both defensivly and technically. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Gilardino: I love this guy. What a young stud he is. When he scores, it's almost as enjoyable for me as when I score in real life... Gives me the shivers. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) At only 24, it's only a matter of time for him to become one of the greats! Serginho: He might not be the most conssistent player and he may be 35, but when he hits top gear, he is unstoppable. And did I mention he has a heart of a 16 year old? Great player to watch and a great Milan player. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Costocurta: I know, he is too old now, but I always liked him a lot. Superb defensive technique and a great great leader. He has done a lot for Milan and has never complained. Maldini always gets all the attention and he definitely deserves it. But I always feel that Costacurta is hidden in Maldini's shadow. I don't know how to say it... Maybe he doesn't get the publicity he deserves? Francesco Totti: Two words: The Gladiator! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) List continues, but it would take a while and I am tired of typing for now.
