I can take a loss to Madrid, but a shutout with so few chances is just embarrassing. It's games like this that make Leo's anger at Silvio increasingly justified.

Has it really been a year already since we last played them? Sheesh.

I was thinking the same thing. If the first words out of his mouth include "Mourinho," he should be banned for a week.

EDIT: You could say a lot of things about Leo, but he made use of whatever he had on the bench. Allegri, this is pathetic!

True, more often than not. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) And to think it was Leo's first year as coach, while Allegri's been doing this for quite some time. Me not impressed, not impressed at all.

2 weak defensive moments cost us, but we also didn't make enough use of the few chances we did get.

Something still isn't clicking - the amount of times I counted Dinho deep was ridiculous, and Pato hardly had a sniff of the ball. Ibra did his best to make things happen but he was up against it.

I keep hearing that something is wrong with the way midfield is set out, and it does seem that the middle of the park is on the backfoot far too much and doesn't influence games like it should.

When it comes to tactics and organisation, the blame must always lie at the door of the coach.

You could use the excuse that he's inexperienced and is still learning, and needs time - well, why appoint a coach of that nature rather than a weathered pro who knows the ropes?

I don't blame Allegri for tonight, I'm just not sure he was the right appointment overall.

Because when players come in and do well, they need to be encouraged. This happens when good performances are rewarded with another game and then another if performances continue. The flip side of this is that bad performances should be rewarded with a spot on the bench, or in some of our squad's case a very cold seat high up in the san siro. Players should never be picked on reputation, which seems to happen far to much in our case mad

Yes, with field players. Absolutely not with goalkeepers. Besides, Amelia wasn't that good, he didn't do what Dida done to Abbiati twice.

Let's not make this comparation, shall we? I mean, this is basically a different Real - crucial players changed, mentality changed, tactics changed, new coach.

As always some of the blame should go to the management and their silly fetish for attackers. we needed a new midfielder, a Hernanes, a VdV. and what do they do? bring in 2 attackers! I know we got KPB but they should've bought a midfielder who Allegri would have no alibi in not using. a true, complete midfielder.

When there's no link between the defense and attack how the hell would you need so many attackers? Pato had ZERO support tonight. Ibra had to constantly track back and start building up play from midfield because our midfield wasn't functioning. why doesn't the mgmt address this problem of midfield?! enough with this "faith" in the old guard cause some of them have given ALL they could - they're finished. they can continue playing like this until they're 35 but we'd win nothing. move the hell on for god's sake, buy new midfielders. cause if you don't the result is this - humiliation.

Panama Devil wins MF's MotM tonight with this bit:

Just like the Libero disappeared, Gattusos' around the world will start dissapearing. The thing now is that you need players willing o sacrifice themselves. Defensive midfielders that are able to provide a through ball or perform a decent cross.

It's madness to play with a DM who's only capable of being a DM (not to mention an old, tired DM who is playing twice a week). show me one other top team with a Gattuso in their starting lineup.. Inter? Barca? Madrid? Man U? Chelsea? all of their DMs are capable of both defensive and offensive works. Gattuso is not. he has zero creativity when going forward. it's sad to say this cause I used to like him as a player and he shouldn't be blamed for anything. but now I have to admit, Ambro is many miles ahead of Rino, although even Ambro is not the best we can afford. Gattuso's role should be limited to a late substitution but in reality he's starting every game ahead of two modern DMs like Flamini and KPB. totall madness! Leo saw that and didn't use Rino very much. what'd he get in return? some not very nice words from Rino combined with praise for Allegri cause he plays him!

Sorry bud, have to disagree, no player, regardless of position should be "untouchable". I have rated Amelia highly for a few years now, i am delighted we have him, but, we should use him much much more.

This is not an anti Abbiati rant. I have been a fan of his for years, and way back i felt he should have been picked over Seb Rossi. Changes need to be made and i feel Amelia, Boateng, Flamini, Sokratis, Merkel and Strasser need game time and they need it sooner rather than later. Putting players on the team sheet through reputation or through some kind of loyalty clause is killing us. There are other youngsters in the wings also that will play for the shirt and the hope that a good performance will lead to more games, currently and for the past few years our selection policy has been curtailing the progress of "younger" players and needs to change.

Tonight just wound me up really bad. To once again see our so called "Big Game" players, seedorf and ronnie disappear from view. To be fair Ronnie has done more recently but clarence cant even get him self psyched up to play against another of his former teams and the only team that has more European trophies than us. If you cant raise your game to these types of encounters you have no place in the team. I have said it before, i really hope seedorf hangs up his boots and takes on a coaching type role with us where his knowledge will be much more benificial to Milan than his presense on the pitch currently is.

You know I really don't want to say it but I think given the situation I have to.

I TOLD YOU SO PEOPLE!!!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

But i'm not really surprised by the result. I was hoping for a draw at best; I knew we wouldn't win and its not because of mourinho. There are alot of other factors that indicate why madrid are a much stronger side than us and over the last few pages you guys have listed them.

Right now the best thing we can do is tough it out and hopefully do something in the winter market.

We need 2 players in order to have a chance in the round of 16.

1) We need a fullback. I don't care if he's right or left. Zamb/antonini can rotate the other side.

2) We need another creative midfielder to fill Ronaldinho's shoes.

Hopefully come summer time we let go of most of the old guard and replace them with youth and some quality players.

-------

also I have to say that i'm personally against purchasing zlatan come summer if we still have the choice. I think fishdoll was right about zlatan; we dont' need him.

With all due respect, I was not talking about Real. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Yes they have a new look to them, but the coach who is sitting in our dressing room should be able to at least figure things out, what's coming to him. Leo may not have done it too well, but Allegri has no excuses. Whatsoever. 1st year versus what 7th year for Allegri?

There was no game plan, not an inch of it. For what it's worth Massimiliano seems to have that mid-table team mentality and couple with the fact that he is afraid to take chances, break the status quo, and that is hurting the club big time. He doesn't get paid millions to experiment, after all. I don't expect him to out think a wily fox called Mourinho, but a teenager could see it coming what with the squad he put up, the subs he made, and even more insanity he should when he played the first string team against Chievo, last week.

Since when? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I like mourinho as a coach and I respect him; but i'm a milanfan first. Watching milan lose does not bring any enjoyment at all to me no matter who we play against. Even if Kaka scores a hatrick on milan I will still be upset.

I think we can all agree in what everyone's said here tonight. If we keep playing with the same old, half-baked players every game, we are going nowhere. It's time people like Boateng, Flamini and Robinho became first team regulars!

1. Madrid has the best squad in the world
2. A balanced squad, maybe only lacking a proper finisher (Higuain is just average)
3. We do not have a balanced squad
4. Madrid has the best coach in the world - no other coach can motivate a team better than him
5. Milan have made some mistakes and since Carletto left, we do not have a proven, quality and proper coach
6. We'll get 2nd place but we'll get knocked out in early stages
7. Concentrate on Scudetto

8. Hey guys. Howdy?
