I've been watching clips of Messias, doesn't seem to be that bad of a signing. I think name wise and potential he's def underwhelming. He seems to be an upgrade to what we currently have in that position, which is good. I think if we go for this option for now and make one more signing, maybe James who could play at both AMC & RW. I think wouldn't be so bad. I think the good thing about Messias is that he scored 9 goals for a team that scored 45 goals and 20 of which came from one player.
I think the positive here, is that I think with summer we improved our squad overall, we got the backup for Ibra, we re-signed Tomori and Tonali, we upgraded on meite with bakayoko & finally we upgraded on samu. I 100% believe Brahim is much better than Hakan and that we didn't lose much from Hakan. We also got a solid replacement on Donna. It might seem like I'm being overly positive but I really believe that our situation isn't that bad. I think our current squad is good enough to compete for the league, I don't see our team be inferior to many teams.
Would love to know what you guys think too.. |

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 9 2020, 07:40 PM) And now Gabbia is Covid positive... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) That’s really unfortunate. I’ve been really impressed with Gabbia’s recent performances. He’s been improving game after game and I think playing with Kjaer, has helped him a lot. I think Kjaer has been helping with positioning and concentration. A little similar to Nesta with T.Silva (obviously to a much lesser extent). I think Gabbia can really turn into a decent squad player, which would be very helpful. A lot of people have the false expectation that if a player comes out of our youth system, they need to be the new Maldini, which shouldn’t be the case. I think if Gabbia turns out to be prime Kaladze it would be really useful. Is it just me who sees the progress, or do you guys see this too? I feel like on an overall basis he hasn’t been getting enough credit on social media or other forums. He’s bound to make mistakes as he’s only 20, which is really young for a CB. But I really like his calmness which is hard to find with young CB’s. |

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 12 2019, 12:39 AM) Nobody has discussed this here, but there were rumours a few days ago about our interest in Ibrahimovic. LA Galaxy's president even said that he has an agreement with us, only to claim afterwards that his words were misinterpreted.
What do you guys think? Would you sign a 38 year old Zlatan? One of the biggest mistakes this club has ever made was selling Ibra and Thiago during the summer 2012. Though, having said that, I’d rather we move on and find better solutions. I love Ibra, his two seasons with the club have been fantastic and yes, I think he’d still be able to offer something this season. Though, making short-sited signings are what killed this club. I’d rather we fix this solution with a player that could help us for a longer period than potentially 6 months. I do agree with the opinion that we need experience, but not a 38-year-old Ibra. It may be a good idea to go all out for Cavani, he’s everything we want Piatek to be, good on the ball, helps out in the defense, can create his own chances and creates for others. His contract expires next season and Icardi seems to be doing well for PSG. Maybe he would be worth pursuing. If we're going to sign a past player it should be Thiago. What we miss more than anything is a leader in the back 4. I really think if we can bring in a vocal player that can shape the defense better and demand players to focus, we'll concede less. I really think one of the reasons Abate and Thiago performed well with us was because of Nesta constant feedback on the pitch. PS. Hi guys (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) , I haven’t posted in a long time but I’ve been coming on often to read your opinions. |
