Milan Made £40m Offer For Ronaldinho In The Summer

Ronaldinho is currently going through a tough time with the Catalan-giants and is being tipped by many to leave the club in the near future.

The 27-year-old has underperformed this season and was verbally attacked by fans at Barcelona’s ‘El Prat’ Airport following Sunday’s hugely disappointing 1-0 El Clasico defeat to league-leading rivals Real Madrid.

AC Milan have long been associated with a move for Ronaldinho, and the club’s President Silvio Berlusconi has never hidden his admiration for the player.

Now Ronaldinho’s agent and brother Roberto de Assis says that Milan did indeed bid for the player before the beginning of the season.

"Milan made an offer in the summer,” he stated.

"It was for £40 million. But the operation didn't get off the ground."

With the January transfer window set to open in just a few days, it remains to be seen if Milan will table a renewed offer for Ronaldinho.

Reports in Spain yesterday suggested that the Rossoneri may look to offload injury-plagued striker Ronaldo in order to make space for his compatriot.

£40m is still way, way too much. I hope the interest is not renewed and with a bit of luck Chelsea will put in a big offer, more than we're willing to spend.

Ronaldinho won't succeed in Chelsea. I'm sure of it. Brazilians and EPL are not made for each other. if he leaves, it will be either Milan... or Madrid!

His value his gone down and I'm sure Milan won't bid 40 mil pounds again.

I cannot believe that we can afford to splash £40m on the overrated R10 while leaving neglecting the areas that need strengthening! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I'm sorry but this is absolutely ridiculous!

P.S. Roberto Assis is not to be trusted in any way (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I think R10 lost his motivation...

After all he has a chamber full of gold to sit on anyway, besides I'm more suspicious of Brazilians from Spain anyway,
