QUOTE
Lampard's situation alerts the Milan clubs

The 28-year-old Lampard has not yet signed a new contract with Chelsea, and would be free to walk away from Stamford Bridge under a Fifa rule that states that players who have served three years of a contract they signed before the age of 28 can buy themselves out of the remainder of their contract provided they give 15 days' notice.

Last week Lampard's agent Steve Kutner contradicted Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon, who had said in a radio interview that Chelsea were close to tying both Lampard and John Terry to new long-term contracts.

Lampard's adviser said that in fact his client was a long way away from agreeing anything, because talks between the player and Chelsea on extending his contract at Stamford Bridge were only at the preliminary stage.

There is also speculation that neither Lampard nor John Terry would be willing to commit to long-term Chelsea deals untiul or unless they knew that manager Jose Mourinho was also going to stay at Stamford Bridge.

That remains uncertain in light of some recent reports and leaked comments.

Meanwhile, AC Milan's general director, Ariedo Braida told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "Is this true? Lampard for £8 million? If this is the case it is very interesting news."

The newspaper also claimed that Inter coach Roberto Mancini is keen on Lampard.

Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are also said to be interested.

Braida said: "Lampard is a very good player, one of the best around, and this situation is something I wasn't aware of at all."

I don't believe but since it's a Braida quote, I decided to post this.

OMG that is totally hilarious I just laughed out loud.

'"Is this true? Lampard for £8 million? If this is the case it is very interesting news."

Thats just a sheer classic. Just epitomises Milan as a club on the one hand traditionally always looking to buy the best, and then the current perspective of only if they're on the cheap.

Having said that, Lampard for £8m would be interesting news to anyone in football management!

It's just got that real shady edge to it, 'is this true', 'very interesting news' and I could just imagine him scuttling off to fire up the Milan transfer machinery.

I genuinely hope so though. Unlikely, but if the rules allow us to go for him right now, then why on earth not. We would be wise to bring in a consistent performer and goal scorer and should offer him basically what he wants, and for once beat Inter, Barca or Real to it!

This would be great!

This is bs anyway. But it also wouldn't work. Lampard AND Kaká play almost the same position (yeah I know, they are VERY different players....).

Hmm, the comparison to Seedorf is better. He can play either CMF or AMC so he would be versatile. And on occasion, he would fit well with the Christmas tree to.

please carlo stop this transfer with all your might (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) Lampard is 28 turning 29, he has played english league all his life and shoots from half most of the time. Please buy someone who can actually play italian football not someone who is good at football.

If Lampard goes abroad then he will go to spain, anyway he is far too overrated IMO. Gerrard at £16m would be a better deal than Lampard at £8m (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

There are only two players in England I would give more than £15m for... Xabi Alonso and Kolo Toure. Maybe even Robin van Persie!

Yes, I would give for Van Persie even more. He is outstanding.
BTW Lampard is going to renew I'm sure about that, Chelsea have what it takes (money of course) to keep players if they want.
So, this is just another news like stories about Ronaldinho - totally BS
