Agreed. And also han, I think Simic played pretty good. He was very solid and I don't remember any mistake by him like you're saying. Maybe it's just me, but in overall he played a good match.

Yes I know he had a good game, but I was paying close attention to him, that's why I'm pointing his bad passing skills out.


btw, hust want to add again, Maldini was amazing, took a little bit of time to get into the swing of things, but man, once he got there, ther was no stopping him. I didn't really think he was going to start getting back to his best form this quickly, but I guess that's what legends like him do, they constantly amaze!!

And Simic made some good interceptions that saved us a couple of times, I was really paying clos attention to him and he did good, the only thing that was really bad was his passing although he did make that great pass to Kaka, before he made the assist to Gourcuff

PS, just want to say that Simic is mostly criticised here when playing in the RB role, because to put it simply, he is not good playing in that position. It would be nice but I think such comparations should be avoided. Cause it`s a big risk that they eventually turn into a burden or ballast that is way to heavy for a 20 year old kid... I think that by time he might just get there. Who knows? There have been a lot of French players labeled as the next Zizou but none of them made it anywhere. But with Gourcuff it's different, he is at Milan, and I'm sure that our trainers will help him develop into what promices to be a great player

Ancelotti thrilled by Gourcuff debut

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti paid tribute to two of his latest signings as well as an older star as goals from Filippo Inzaghi and Yoann Gourcuff - on his full debut - and a late Kaká penalty gave his team a 3-0 win against AEK Athens FC in Group H. It was a masterful performance and AEK coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer admitted his charges were powerless to stop the Rossoneri.

It's always great for a coach to see a player as young as Yoann Gourcuff with such a mature attitude. He has been a big surprise, even for me. I didn't know him so well but the club have made a great signing. He will continue to improve and has had a memorable [UEFA Champions League] debut; we're really happy with him. We had a difficult time in qualifying but I think this brought the squad together. Ricardo Oliveira has only been here for a few days but he is settling in very well. He is trying to forge an understanding with his team-mates, especially Inzaghi, who is in great form. He has always been a great finisher but in the last few matches he has been extraordinary.

I talked to the team a lot after the game but I can't complain too much. You can do many things but you can't alter the strength of your opponents. However, I am very happy to take part in this great competition. It will give us experience, especially in terms of facing one of the best teams in Europe. We tried to disrupt their possession and did that quite well but lacked the necessary composure to find the best way to trouble them in defence.

He dominated! And no it doesn't matter if it's AEK or Barca. This kid has got it in him and only in Milan he will develope to become something extraordinary. I always knew he was special, but I never knew he was so mature. Handled his CL debut more than perfectly.
