QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Apr 6 2007, 07:17 PM) But I just don't get this though...for Carlo to leave I was sure it would have to be to the Azzuri post coz Donadoni flopped. Donadoni has NOT flopped. Italy's group is the only one where so many teams are getting the points and if it wasn't for the draw in Italy against ?? they would have been fine. A loss in France is not so unexpected, is it? Even though I don't give Lippi much credit for the WC (or for being a great manager in general) I can't deny the fact that it was HIS team that won it and by that I mean that he was a part of it, an important, neuralgic one and when one such part is replaced it takes time for the unit to word fine again. QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Apr 6 2007, 09:13 PM) You really think Spalleti will quit Roma. No but they might "quit him". He was the 6th coach in a single season when he took over two years ago and if United get past them in the CL and Lazio and/or Milan manage to overtake them in the league I won't be surprised if he's shown the door even after what he has done. This is Italy after all. You won't find no Fergusons here. --------------- I think Carlo's problems is the lack of respect he gets from his players. And it's only normal when the team's president publicly criticizes him... when the players feel that their coach is not so powerful and he is forced into making decisions by his superiors it's a normal outcome what happens. I don't care even if Seedorf is Carlo's secret affair... that response of him in a match of the first round of this season's Serie A should not be one of a Milan player. To do this it means he's been given the space to do so which is not right. And since it happened, there was not even the slightest of penalties for Seedorf... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Which means more space is given. Next time he could slap Carlo in the face and I would like to see Carlo shut up and accept it since he's the one that's giving him the space. This is not just me... Remember Billy said that Ancelotti's presence in the locker room is not so "heavy" anymore. And that was two years ago, summer of '95... Costacurta knows more than we do, don't he?

It depends on circumstances (On what Billy said..). Surely, with all the injuries, lack of form, tiredness, old, and inconsistent players that we have this season ... Carlo pushed his team to 4 points from 4th place with a game in hand (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) His tactics are showing and it is hard for a team that has been through a lot by always aiming high to keep focus and keep that aim (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) One answer to you would be RMadrid (aside from their ranking); Only the #1 football club in the world and has played worse than Napoli, a Serie B team this season (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) But, even so .. Milan is still a very strong team. And Carlo needs to get the best out of the team. Cuz we all know deep down inside, that this team can beat anyone !!! Even Chelsea at their best, if Milan is in the right mindset, we'll control the game and push them aside ! Still, I believe Carlo failed this season when he didn't close the game at the San Siro, if he doesn't win it at Munich. I doubt he will be here next year.

Billy said so and though I don't blindly listen to what he says, I do believe there is some subtrata underneath it.

QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Apr 6 2007, 07:44 PM) Although I believe Carletto is a great coach, his time here is over. Players are too used to him and that's always scary for a team like Milan who always needs to play their best because more often than not, we are playing the best. Who should replace him? Spalletti. He is a coach with a sharp eye and a desire for playing attacking football. Delio Rossi has also caught my attention. He has done well in recent years and he seems like to know how to get the best out of each and every player. That's one of the things we need badly, cause sometimes it seems like Gattuso is the only player that's giving 100%. Prandelli is not a bad coach, but I think he ows most of his success to having a rather powerfull squad of players than being some sort of a mastermind or anything like that.Prandelli knows how to bring the best out of his players. With the talent we have on the team he could be the worst tactician out there (which he isn't) and still win us something. I would bet everything I have that if we sold Gila to Fiorentina while Prandelli was still there then I'm pretty sure that he would be banging 24 goals per season once again. QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Apr 6 2007, 10:32 PM) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I didn't mean to say he flopped. I mean to say if. That was the only place left for Carlo to go. Not really, Real want him, that is if they don't get Schuster, Rijkaard I think is on his way out of Barca, Mourinho might also be leaving Chelsea. I think this summer we'll see a lot of movement in the coaches department

I think it might be one more season until the managers start moving. I definitely think, given this years shambles, it's time for Carlo, frankly, to resign, let alone having to be pushed.
Lippi. His team selection at the WC baffled and, at times, frustrated me. However, he is a Serie A man, something we need to start competing in again, he has 3 CL league finals to his name, and one win, same as Capello. Normally I would advocate Capello for the post of Milan manager but perhaps his failed stint at Real has dented my confidence in him, though they are a sinking ship regardless I feel.
I think Prandelli and Spaletti are great coaches and are the future of Italian football management much like Capello and Lippi once were. I agree that prizing Spaletti away will be hard to say the least. Perhaps Prandelli isn't quite ready for Milan yet, but then, neither one might say was Sacchi etc, in terms of experience at top clubs. He is no Sacchi though.
For me, Lippi, would be satisfactory, or, my new favourite, Benitez. However, given the new gold-laden owners of Anfield, and all the extra booty he has to splash now, I doubt he'll be eager to jump a ship that is evidently on the rise and rise.
Mourinho might fancy us or Real, but I know I don't fancy him and his arrogant, abrasive nature.
Hiddink anyone?

QUOTE (I_Rossoneri @ Apr 8 2007, 09:52 PM) It will be a glorious day when carlo gets his fat *** kicked out of Milanello (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) We need a manager who can instill a winning mentality into the players, as under carlo they play without heart or courage. Under Lippi Pirlo and Gattuso were two of the best midfielders at the WC, in fact Pirlo ran more under Lippi in that month than he has for carlo in five years! I would be relatively happy with any one of Lippi, Frank or Mourhino and an outside bet of Spalletti. They are the ones IMO who are capable of taking us back to winning ways. Yesterday Carletto showed his critics why he, and not anyone else is our coach. 4 european semis in 5 years.....I think that's not too bad (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) .
